I wanted to make a Ravenwing Army with mixed wing supplements to have a different angle of attack available. I also really want to try out Mephiston as I think his fluff is really awesome and its looks as if he can really beat people up baring the fact that he actually reaches his destination unscaved.

There are two different builds that I want to try out.

The first build:

The first list has more models and has more angles of attack while the second list hits VERY hard.

Any thoughts?

With that 28 spare points get a magna grapple for the dread and swap 1 bloodfist for a frag cannon. For -1a you now get 2 auto hitting st6 rending shots on vehicles (upto 6 on a squadron and even more on an infantry unit), a melta gun that will be in short range and a st8 ap1(or ap2 cant remember off the top of my head) attack. All usually shooting at side or rear armour. That will decimate lone heavy tanks, light squadrons, and be quite dangerous to meq, teq and horde.

Gonna tell you what I told the guy building a "herohammer" list. If you come up against blob orks, nids, or guard, you will most likely lose. They'll just tarpit you for days with such an elite force. Consider instead, taking your Furioso with Blood (blender) talons. Voila. The problem is fixed.

Also, take the Raven. If you can take a flyer, take it, there's no question about that.

Thats me :-p. In my list you are right about the blenders as it compliments the sterguard nicely since he can protect them from a charge as you say and the anti tank role is already covered by the sternies. However in Barnies list he has no drop-podding melta sternies so the furioso can fill that role with a grapple, melta and frag cannon.

At my LGS the said that GK don't care about my bikers and that I should go green wing to just shoot them to death. What are your thoughts as this list is ultimately geared towards kicking Draigo and Mordrek wing.

Fair enough good sir, I see your point. I would definitely stick with the Melta gun and the Magna Grapple then. Still not sure if I'd swap a bloodfist for a frag cannon, but that's just cause I have awful luck with the things. The dice hate me so I never get rends. Try it though! See if you like it. Some weapons work better for some people

That is WAY too few models to go against GK. They'd almost be matching you even if they take paladins.

Honestly, I wouldn't take the BA contingent, they're not adding anything to your list really. If you are set on it, get rid of Mephiston, he's not anything special against terminators.

Just Bring Vindicators. The Blood Angels one is fast so you can move twelve and drop that sweet sweet termie eating template.

I could also drop most of this list and go for a mono dakka list with a 40man guard blob with Azrael and a 40 man marine blob with the banner of devastation and then a LRC with DWK and a Leman Russ Demolisher. This list would generate immense Dakka.
