Hey all, this is my first attempt at a SM list with the new codex, and I have obviously included a lot of units that I'm familiar with from previous builds, while at the same trying a few new ones.
I would like it to be a list for all occasions. It already includes some of my favourite units, and hopefully it can be competitive too?

HQ - MOTF: bike, conversion beamer - 140

TROOPS - 10 Tacticals: plasma gun, combi-plasma, lascannon, Rhino - 220

TROOPS - 10 Tacticals: plasma gun, combi-plasma, lascannon, Rhino - 220

TROOPS - 5 Scouts: CCWs, camo cloaks - 65
- LS Storm: heavy flamer - 45

ELITES - Dreadnought: heavy flamer, Drop Pod - 145

ELITES - 5 Termies: 5 TH/SS - 225

HEAVY - Land Raider - 250

HEAVY - Predator: sponson lascannons - 115

HEAVY - Stalker - 75

TOTAL: 1500 pts

Some notes:
- The chapter trait will be Iron Hands.
- The termies go in the LR and are used as a defensive assault unit.
- The tacs will often combat squad down.
- The dread is used for harassment, and as a hunter for hiding units, the LS storm and scouts too.
- The pred, LR, stalker and MOTF offer long ranged fire, as well as the tac lascannons if combat squaded.
- If necessary, the MOTF can use BotO on my vehicles.
- I wasn't sure about the stalker at all, but had a couple of points spare.

Any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated!

EDIT: MotF with bike and CB is 130 points not 140.
So i could drop the stalker and take something small (85 points)?

Your list is a little all over the place. Here are my suggestions.
- Drop the bike from the MOTF - stick him with the Terminators
- Take a Crusader or Redeemer instead
- Change your dread to dual auto cannons - drop the drop pod
- Swap the scouts for 10 scouts with sniper rifles & camo cloak
- Drop the Lascannons on the tacticals
- Swap the Stalker for a second Predator
- You should have enough points to add extra armor and a multi Melta for your land raider

The tactical squads are 215pts for that load out.

Don't drop the Lascannons.

Don't drop the bike from the MotF, have him hang out with the lascannon marines with that beamer. Or, drop the bike and just have him hang out with the lascannon marines, since they won't be moving anyways.

Crusaders are a waste of points unless you need the room (I mean, bolters and an assault cannon for 250? Pass). Redeemers are melta bait. Of course, getting the Assault Terminators in range means you will be in melta range, but getting up close then backing out is good. However, I suppose a Redeemer might be better to support an assault than a Godhammer. However, it won't be doing any shooting as it moves up, but it should be within range of the enemy by Turn 2 anyways. (12" move, 6" flat out turn 1 is the assumption).

Don't waste points on Extra Armor. It only makes a difference 1/6 times. It was better last edition when you actually had to worry about glances, but now...

It costs 140pts for 10 Sniper Scouts. Dunno where you'd get the points...

Suicide Dread isn't a bad idea with MM/HF. However, make sure it isn't giving away first blood when you drop it.

The Stalker is good or not depending on what you'll usually fight. If Eldar/Tau/Flyers are common in your area, then by all means, go for it. Otherwise, you'd be better off putting the points elsewhere.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

@crazyterran, are you sure about the tacs' points, because it really does seem to add to 220 to me?

I've decided to tweak the list a bit:

Dropped the stalker until I really think I need it, use it's points for a techmarine with some servitors for 2+ BotO (with Iron Hands trait).

This combined with IWND on all vehicles should be pretty powerful. He is quite vulnerable though, but I intend on screening him with my four big tanks.

Another thing: I've thought about replacing my bike MotF with a bike Captain, with Teeth of Terra, and using him to CC isolated troops and support the scouts and dread on the flank?
This means I will get 2 servitors with the TM instead of 3...

Here is the modified list:

HQ - MOTF: bike, conversion beamer - 130
*OR*
HQ - Captain: bike, teeth of terra - 145

HQ - Techmarine: 3 or 2 servitors - 80/70

TROOPS - 10 Tacticals: plasma gun, combi-plasma, lascannon, Rhino - 220

TROOPS - 10 Tacticals: plasma gun, combi-plasma, lascannon, Rhino - 220

TROOPS - 5 Scouts: CCWs, camo cloaks - 65
- LS Storm: heavy flamer - 45

ELITES - Dreadnought: heavy flamer, Drop Pod - 145

ELITES - 5 Termies: 5 TH/SS - 225

HEAVY - Land Raider - 250

HEAVY - Predator: sponson lascannons - 115

TOTAL: 1500 pts

If you intend on a bike captain then you should stick him with a 5 man bike squad, which will count as a troop. Alone he is too easy to pick off.
