So I figured I might as well share this one since he just got cleaned and primed for a fresh World Eaters theme! I had this one uploaded but didn't know what to do with him until just now I ralized he's based! That's a complete mini! This is my sand and glue technique. It's pretty permanent so... we'll see what it looks like under crushed glass I guess?

Anyways here he is. My first Helbrute.

Any comments or tips for the next paint job would be great. I planned on using pretty much the same formula as the Khornate Berzerkers I completed recently. More to come on them as well...

I really dig the style but I think it needs more BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

Well for people to lazy to click the link here is what his hellbrute looks like.

I think it looks sickening which is what you were going for I think haha so yes I like it and it looks god

My critiques would be:
I think it looks a little monotone to me, by that I mean just looks flat for some reason but it might just be the lighting. Maybe its the gold trim? Try some silver metal with a nice wash of sepia or agrax earth shade that makes it look worn.
Paint might be a bit thick but again just might be the picture.

Overall I like it and I think it is very much a chaos theme and I like how it isn't the classic khorne red scheme.
Keep posting!

derp! Thanks for that man, I'm not very good with the technical computer stuff. I'll make sure all future posts like this feature pics!

Thanks for the tips too btw. A few questions though...

This guy is getting redone in a World Eaters theme, but how do you think he would look with the old white and blue? If I did go white and blue what colour should the skin parts be? Could I pull off a third colour for that or should I keep the flesh and armour the same?

I like the blood effects on the claws and horns. Look at different techniques to do that, what did you use?

North of your position

Looks great.

One thing, though: I think the face looks rather bland - mainly because it's (almost) the same colour as the rest of the dread - maybe try another color, like some raunchy tint of yellow?

The blood on the claws and horns was pretty straight forward, but keep in mind this was my very first vehicle so I had no idea what wet blending was or how to layer properly. I just hit them with a swipe of Mephiston Red. Nothing special. If I were to do that again I would probably layer a few colours in there, but as you see it? Just a splash of red.

As for the face, yeah it does blend in too much but next time around we'll probably do that better as well.
