Hey all!

A few months ago I got a new compressor, and needed a new quick release for my airbrush. A guy gave me the following and it works perfectly. Now I would like to get another set of these 2 items but have no idea what they are called.

Does anyone have an idea? the threat of the airbrush is 1/8, so the inside of the 1st part is also 1/8 (and therefor the last bottom part has also a 1/8 threaton the outside)

I meen the 2 giant, kinda ugly looking parts at the bottom that go into the airhose.

Thank you!

Thank you for your very quick reply!

However, I don't think that's what I mean.

I have this quick release hose:

As you can see, its really big (most airbrush hoses I had before where alot smaller). This is because this fits my compressor, the smaller ones didn't.

So I need quite a big "stick into quick release" thingy.... (It's really frustrating if you don't know the words for these things )

The part on your airbrush looks to me like a 1/4" male quick disconnect while the one in your hand is the female side quick disconnect.

The other part on your airbrush is just a thread adapter to go from the airbrush thread (I have no idea what size it is) so standard 1/4" air hose thread.

I'm not sure in the Netherlands but in Canada pretty much every hardware store sells the QD plug you need. The thread adapter will be the more difficult one to source. You will need to find out what treading the airbrush has to be able to find an adapter for it.

yeah the one you have is a 1/4 inch by the looks of it. Ideally you wanted 1/8 inch quick disconnect coupling, and perhaps some extra male ends if theres more than one tool to be using.

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

Thanks for the replies, I was able to find the adapter because of it! (atleast, I found the same as I use right now)

The major problem right now is to find the male quick connect.

Since the thread is 1/8, but the quick release female is 1/4, I need a male end with 1/8 thread but 1/4 male part...

Does this even exist? and is this true? You cant see it on the picture, but the thread of the airbrush is actually the same size as the thread on the male quick connect, which is 1/8...

Never thought this would be the most difficult thing in airbrushing...

They are usually sold in pairs.

You are using the larger size ones, I would suggest going down to the smaller size more common airbrush ones.

If you don't want to do that, the size you are talking about is commonly found at hardware stores.

(I have a ton of them, got them at harbor freight).

You are using a full size compressor hose with an airbrush - you have two choices.

1 - Use a big size quick disconnect (what you are doing) and need an adapter for the airbrush.
2 - Use a small size disconnect, and need an adapter for the hose.

Best of luck!

If you have a gas supply (welding supply, anyplace that sells cylinders of gas) place nearby they can be very helpful in finding fittings like this. It's actually how I got my first airbrush setup for using a CO2 tank instead of a compressor.
