I am not new to 40k but very new to DaemonHunters, both playing with and against, I have a grand total of three games experience. Presently, my inquisitor Lord is my HQ choice. I like to field him with with two sages and one mystic. In addition to this, I have three escher necromunda models that fluffwise are my inquisitor's harem and game wise are imperial guard veterens with plasma guns. I like the firepower put out. However, when I am on the recieving end of shooting, I have to use the crappiest save, since I have 3 crap saves, 3 carapace saves, and 1 power armour save. My questions are two. The first, what other equipment should I give my Lord? I was thinking either incinorator, or plasma pistol and power weapon. The second, what can I do to avoid the crappy save rolls when being shot at? Is three acolytes with power armour to act as meat shields effective. Is there another option?
