I was hoping to get some help regarding the build of my ork army.
Since i only know the basics of the game it's hard for me to set up a decent army.
And i dont have a lot of money to spend so i dont want to buy units that i eventually won't use.

My current "army":

Ork ghazkull
Ork battlewagon
Ork warboss
2 ork warbikes

I am looking to start with a 1000 point army
The battlewagon is unfinished, it only has a red paintjob so far so i can still decide on what to include on the wagon

Well boyz would be a good start.

Well.. It could be fun to mention that he could just take two squads of nobz or meganobz and have two troop choices as well. I'm sure it isn't recommended though.

I have purchased some Boyz now, and i'm probably going to convert one of them into a nob

One should already be a nob, so no need there Give him the Power klaw over the big choppa.

Well with what you have in terms of HQ choices, meganobs go nicely with gazzy inside a battlewagon. but your gona want more than one battlewagon. as it will be shot at! The other you could load with 20 shoota boys, who can snapfire up the battlefield and then hopefully assault once close enough. As the extra attack from slugga boys overall is not quite as useful as being able to shoot while in the BW.

You have 2 warbikes, you'll want atleast 1 more, a nob leader on bike, and possibly more bikes if you want to play a speedfreaks style force.

My friend normally goes trukk boys supported by lots and lots of lootas, loots can do everything but kill AV14.

Yep lootas are a gooooood shout squad sizes of 5 or 15. In order to get the most out of squad sizes and leadership tests.

If your taking trukks then you want rams so they can leap through terrain!

I'm not planning on playing a speedfreak style force, but i like the idea of getting 2 wagons with gaz and meganobz and another wagon with 20 shoota's.

But i also like the idea of the lootas, is it possible to combine this?

For example;

Ghaz
... meganobz (not sure how many)
2 battlewagons (red paint job and def' rolla)
20 shoota boys
and a decent squad of lootas (10/15 maybe?)

good thing about orks is you can fit alot of stuff into any list.

Orks in general are cheap.

You could easily combine the two and run both. in fact you'd have points spare

Have a google for some ork lists to get an idea of how many units they are taking for 1000, 1500, 2000 point games.

Then also have a look at some tactics. There is a good ork tactica on this forum that nicely explains unit strengths/weaknesses
