Just ordered a battalion set of these; how are they to put together compared to something like the PSC M4A4 Shermans?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I build Dragon kits, so for me the PSC Shermans are like Lego.

The Cromwells are even easier, take a few mins to put together. Simply beautiful kit in both design and outcome.

That got a genuine chuckle. Lovely paint job, and my own favourite 11th AD.

I saw the PSC and Battlefront Cromwells next to each other painted, and they are damn near identical and interchangable.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

After getting my battalion set of the Cromwells, I found most of the stuff pretty straightfoward to fit together, but I'm utterly stumped by the tracks. There are 6 peg holes, and only 3 pegs long enough to fit in on each track; the pegs are also at a variety of angles (consistent from sprue to sprue, and very obviously intended that way) and I cannot for the life of me figure out why the tracks are not sitting.

Even just a tiny hand movement whilst holding the track to the hull results in the pegs slipping out of the holes and the track itself slipping, so I'm never sure where the sweet spot is supposed to be, since none of the spots seem to be able to accept the track pegs very well at all.

EDIT: Finally got them right (I think/hope) by gluing the mudguards on first, and fitting the tracks in the space.

Having collected alot of BF Cromwells in the last year (20+ and counting), I think I'm in a reasonably good position to comment on the Mud Guards.

They are awful, they don't fit well, they require alot of effort with filing to get a neat fit. Then they need a really strong fast acting super glue, they need to orientated well. They still leave a gap that needs filing or you just live with it.

The PSC ones just look fabulous by comparison and also the Engine Cowling in metal on the BF is annoying as hell.

Looking back, I would have bought 4 boxes of PSC Cromwells, and alot of Stowage and camo Sprues. But hey I still like the BF ones.

I take it you trimmed the 3 longer ones? Those are longer to help the sprue be more stable when stacked.

Trimmed them down and they were perfect one mine

Since the box helpfully contains no instructions, and the video PSC have where they assemble one (albeit animated construction) didn't show it, either, no, I didn't trim the 3 longer ones since there was no indication that I was meant to. I wasn't about to chance wasting £45 by chopping something off that might have actually been necessary.

Don't worry about it, I looked at it with a confused expression.

Just cut down the 3 longer ones. If you look closely they are between 1/2 and 2/3 smaller than the actual bits you want. Trim them off and they slot in perfectly.

Instructions are pretty poor. I didn't look at them and managed ok.
