So it's got flyers and wraiths, but it's really about my fave unit in the Necron Codex: the humble warrior.

Focus fire. With so many Deathstars etc, you want to be able to put down fire in a concentrates area and make your opponent roll dice... So:

Dropping two flyers in on turn two is sub average, but against, even a lot of Death Stars or huge blobs (toughness 4) you are still talking about 40 wounds to deal with. You wouldn't make it to 80 wounds if they all made their reserve rolls, probably 70 if he has gone for a confident central position (key is every warrior being in rapid fire range, which means probably adopting a zoom over approach for the third and fourth).

I don't think it is beacause of Necrons. I think it is because this same list has been reviewed, reviewed, and then reviewed again. It is a pretty standard Cronair list and doesn't need any improvements as it has proven to be competitive. Go have fun with it but, don't be suprised if your opponent simply packs his mini's back up. Unless of course this is in a tournament setting! Good luck.

Hm. I would think of "cron air" as heavy flyer spam with hardly any warriors. At this points level you can have 9 flyers if you keep it to five men in each. Which is one list.

I decided to try something away from the tiny units to using four flyers, not filling out my heavy support slots (which is generally seen as our best slot) in order to put multiple big chunky units of 14 down onto the table on turn two and shoot at tanks and Deathstars and things.

I've not being playing very long, but so far no one has looked at my army and packed up and gone home, but it's good to know that some people do behave like that.
