Hey All,

So i've been looking for some pretty specific bits for my inquisitorial retinues, and i've come up empty on Bartertown my normal venue for getting stuff.

I like Hoard of Bitz, but they don't have what i want.

Bitz and Kits does, but i've heard not so great things about them recently about not filling orders, and not being great on contact, etc.

I checked out bitzbox, but they don't have what i need (i'm looking for new witch elves for death cult assassins - thats my top priority. A lot of other stuff too, but that's what i can't find).

Anyone know any good, reputable bitz services with the new dark elf kits in stock ? Also, i don't use paypal, so i'm trying to shy away from Ebay if at all possible (though i might change my mind on that).

Also, not a deal killer, but huge plus if they are in the US (so no international shipping).

Probably not what you want to hear but most of the big bits stores will have been hit hard by the new GW t&c designed to prevent the selling on unboxed and/or incomplete kits

what a lot of them have left is the remains of kits they bought before the ban or stuff they've got from secondary sources (eg trade in and secondary purchaces)

So really new stuff like the Dark Elves is unlikely to be around in any numbers

so annoying as it's going to be trawling ebay is probably going to be the best bet

Or, alternatively, if you're struggling to find bits from certain kits, stands to reason others may be too, so perhaps buy the boxes, nab what you want, and then sell the rest to try and offset the cost?

Sure, it might cost you a bit more this way, but it will definitely mitigate some of the cost.

Yeah, i think i'm going to end up doing this unless i get lucky.

The one sticking point on this method , however, is that i buy the box, and cannibalize 4 of the 10. I won't get full MSRP for the remaining 6, even still NOS. So what i'm doing is essentially subsidizing someone else's brand new models by doing this and going that route. Assuming i get lucky and get 70% MSRP for them, the 3-4 witch elves have essentially costed me around 7.50 each, when their MSRP is 6 dollars each.... so what i have done is actually pay 25% more for what i need.

... which, ya know, i'll do if i have no other choice, but i certainly don't love the idea.

As a last resort, i'll do it, but i'm also not keen on taking a bath doing it.

@ Orlando - i checked ebay out of partial desperation. I'm no fleabay fan, but what they're offering is just nonsense. 10 bodies (bodies only, no heads, hair, or weapons ! ) for 46.00. DAFUQ ?

Single witch elves for 7.99. Hell no.

At this rate i'll probably buy the box and try to trade the overage. I also may just keep it and use it for a partial inquisitor list led by coteaz (in which case, i could use all 10 as DCA's). We'll see. Thanks for the comments so far !

How do you expect a bits seller to sell to you for less than the cost of the miniature? Even if bit services were available, you would be paying over the cost per unit. Where do you think the bits sellers profits come from?

You misunderstand.

It's simple economics. Why am i going to buy 3-4 minis at 8 bucks a piece PLUS shipping, when i can buy 10 minis at 6 dollars a piece - no shipping, or free shipping - , keep the 4 i need, and then sell the other 6 at probably 5 bucks a piece net, or trade them at 6 bucks net.

I do not "expect" a bits seller to sell to me below cost, that's asinine. Please don't insert entitlement where there is none.

It's a simple matter of economics. I can get a better deal elsewhere, so why in hell would i pay more?

Fair enough.
