I'm currently going through the hobby butterfly effect, however I feel that the IG are the right army for me. Starting with the Cadian Battleforce, what would be best after that to buy for a shooty-heavy army?

If you want infantry gunline then another battleforce and an ADL would be prudent.

If you want Mechanized infantry then Chimeras are your next purchase along with a bit more infantry. Kit bash some Melta and Plasma guns.

Yeah, IG are manpower-intensive so you probably will want 2 battleforces. ADL would be a good purchase, or you could look at chimeras as stated, or take some of the various firepower support options - manticore, leman russ, valkyrie (vendetta) etc

And honestly, after glueing gazilionth trooper, you will LOVE to get LRBT or Valkyrie together

I bought 4 squad packs and 2 comand squads as my 1st buy

Then 4 chimeras and 2 LRBT as my 2nd buy

Then more guardsmen and went the vet/mech route with LRBT support and finally i bought 2 valkyries

Amd i finally bought from Ebay a 10,000 point apocolypse force from someone LOL
