The rule says pulse rifles and carbines does that mean it works with sniper drones?

Do Sniper Drones have Pulse Rifles or Pulse Carbines? This is a case where the name matters.

I mean its a longshot pulse rifle im just wondering if the rule includes all pulse rifle type weapons or just straight pulse rifle. If you think about it twinlinked pulse carbines could also be a point of argument in that it is for all pulse rifle/carbine weapons. Just my thoughts on it I could be completly wrong.

Based on the fact that Hot-Shot Lasguns cannot be used with FRFSRF, no - Longshot Pulse Rifles cannot benefit from Volley Fire.

Twin-linked is a rules designation, not part of a name. Longshot is not, so a Longshot Pulse Rifle is not a Pulse Rifle in the same sense that a Hotshot Lasgun isn't a Lasgun as far as the rules are concerned.

This is usually correct, though combi-weapons are the odd exception to this since their bolter half invariably counts as a bolt-gun for other rules which reference such.

That's because combi-weapons usually have, within their rules, a line similar to "This is a boltgun with ..." So combi-weapon boltgun components count as boltguns because their rules say they do.

Though, combi-weapons have stat lines of bolter and secondary weapon, where hotshot lasgun and longshot pulse rifle have their own stat line.

Had storm of fire exclusively mention pulse rifles I would agree, but since it pulse weapons it works for the sniper drones.

He's talking about "Storm of Fire", the Ethereal rule. Volley Fire is rifles and carbines, Storm of Fire is Pulse Weapons.

And the thread is talking about Volley Fire...

Volley Fire (Fireblade) would only affect pulse rifles and carbines.
Storm of Fire (Ethereal) would affect longshot pulse rifles, pulse carbines, pulse pistols, pulse rifles, and kroot rifles when using there pulse rounds.
