Hey everyone,
So I just picked up the Eldar Codex, 1 box of dire avengers and 2 boxes of wraithguard. I just want eldar to be a small army 1000ish points when done so just wanted to start slowly building it up.
I like wraith armies a lot so I was thinking of this setup:

HQ
Spiritseer 70

Troops
6 Wraithguard Wraithcannons 192
5 Dire Avengers 65

Heavy Support
Wraithlord with Scatter Laser Star Cannon 160

Since I only have the 10 wraithguard, 5 dire avengers so far I am open to suggestions as to which models to buy. I just like the look of the wraithlord a lot.
Any help for 500-750 point level would be great! I am thinking of some guardians but I'm not sure yet

I think the first things on your list should be your HQ choices.
A farseer is a great way to start, but a Spiritseer is good if you want to have scoring wraithguard. Maybe even both, because together without upgrades they wont cost over 200.
Then go for a Wave Serpent with scatter lasers. They are amazing. Plus you'll need a vehicle to ride your wraithguard around in.
Eldar jetbikes are incredible units. I'd recommend getting two boxes of them.
And then, depending on how you kit out the wraithlord, maybe some war walkers with bright lances? Or maybe bright lance the wraithlord and give the walkers scatter star.
For 750 points using what you have, i'd head along these lines.
(Though the problem is that ten wraithguard aren't going to fit comfortably in a 750 point list. I'd stick with 5ish for now and add more in at 1000-1500)

HQ
Spiritseer-70
Troops
5 Dire Avengers-65
5 Wraithguard: Wraithcannons, Wave Serpent: Scatter Lasers-280
5 Windrider Jetbikes-85
Fast Attack
5 Warp Spiders-95
Heavy Support
Wraithlord: Two Bright Lances, Two Flamers-160

That list would take you to 755 points. If you're not playing in a tournament then people should be nice enough to give you those five extra points. If not then drop a Jetbike and then upgrade another to a Shuriken cannon.

HQ
Spiritseer-70
Troops
5 Dire Avengers-65
5 Wraithguard: Wraithcannons, Wave Serpent: Scatter Lasers-280
4 Windrider Jetbikes: Shuriken Cannon-78
Fast Attack
5 Warp Spiders-95
Heavy Support
Wraithlord: Two Bright Lances, Two Flamers-160

Okay so the list gives you a fair bit of versatility.
The Spiritseer could hang with the Wraithguard and hope to get Protect. Or perhaps take Voice of Twighlight(Iyanden supplement spiritseer Primaris, replacing conceal/reveal)
To give them battle focus and increase the threat range.
The Avengers could ether move up or hold a backfield objective, up to you.
The jetbikes can get a late game objective/linebreaker. (I always start my jetbikes in reserve and bring them on later in the game)
The Warp Spiders are a good unit. I haven't used them yet but I'm getting some. I think for you they'd be good as they are versatile and can threaten pretty much anything below AV13. They also provide you a unit for the Scouring.
The Wraithlord can give you both anti tank and anti TEQ. As well as dealing with crowds with the flamers. I gave him brightlances (Mine has the same) so that you have a long range anti tank weapon. You could probably give him scatterstar and he'd still be good, but i just personally think that the two lances are more useful. And then if the enemy have no tanks then he can HQ hunt from afar. I haven't given him scatterstar because i think that those two guns are provided in the Warp spiders and in the Wraithguard.

I hope I've helped. Please question anything that I've done if you want more explanation. And I'm not saying that this is the best list you could use, it's just what i would use in your situation.

Thanks for the info!
I think I like the second list the best.
I am just unsure about the warp spiders I have heard they are good but what exactly are their role? I am just not a fn of the models the backs look funny haha.

I ended up buying just a singe box of wraithguard and the 5 dire avengers so I could use the extra cash for some jet bikes or a wave serpent.

Would it be feasible to run a list like this:
HQ
Spiritseer 70

Troops
5 Wraithguard wraith cannons, wave serpent with scatter lasers 280
5 Dire Avengers 1 exarch 75

Heavy Support
Wraithlord with Scatter Laser and Starcannon Two Flamers 160
Wraithlord with Ghost Glaive, two bright lances, two flamers 165

Total Points 750

Now that I think about it though it might have been beneficial to have 2 boxes of wraithguard. Because I could have done the same list but just 1 wraithlord.

Would it be good to have a box of guardians? I kind of want to have a low model count army though so not sure if I want guardians.

Personally I wouldn't take dire avengers without a transport as they will accomplish nothing sat at the back all game. I would take jet bikes over foot slogging avengers. Sticking your wraiths in a serpent is solid. Wraith lord with lances is solid. I think the second wraith lord could be over doing it and you would benefit more from vypers/war walkers

And I agree with your view on warp spiders, I would never use them just because the models are horrific.

I think 1 WL with 2 BL and 1 WL with 2 SL for anti AV and anti hoard, also bikes in this ed are OP so always take 2 x3 man units min. also a agies defence line with quad gun could help a lot for anyone sneeking in a flyer at 750-1000 points.

So a list would look somthing like this

Well I could take out 1 of the wraithlords and downgrade the dire avengers to stock but just slap them into a wave serpent and then add in 3 bikes that should add up to 750ish

I want to have a low model count to start so that might work.

Well, I'd go for 2 Serpents with Dire Avengers, some Warwalkers, and a Farseer (or Jetseer)

Are war walkers good? They seem like they would be fragile but the models are cool.
Would just 1be good or how many?

Warwalkers are excellent, one of the best units in the game. You need to protect them a bit so that they cannot easily be reached by deep strikers. I'd give them scatterlasers all the way and let them be guided (or using prescience) by a Jetseer.

First of all, I'd suggest another box o' Dire Avengers. Five of them wont do a bit but ten will make a threat to any infantry.

Spiritseer - 70p

5 Wraithguard - 355p
- D-Scythes
- Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-fields)

10 Dire Avengers - 160p
- Exarch w/ Shimmershield

Wraithlord - 165p
- 2x BL, 2x flamer, Glaive

= 750p

I like that list it looks good. I think 2 boxes of dire avengers is a good idea.
For wraithgguard is the D sythes the way to go or are the wraith cannons better? I'm just not a big fan of template weapons not enough range haha.
Are wraithblades any good or no?

My choice is D-Scythes if I have the points to spare. The thing is that while they have a hort range, it's only ~3" shorter than the Wraithcannons.
Wraithcannons will do fine against tanks, but five shots is not reliable to do much. And there's not a single unit in the game that would like to assault a squad which gets 5d3 S4 AP2 insta hits with ID on sixes

Wraithblades are a decent CC-unit, but they suffer from the same problem as the rest of the Codex's (<- is that right...?) assault units. No reliable Transport.
Guards will do fine, but I've had succes with Blades in smaller games.
- Dual-Swords in Serpent. Will get them there, but then it's one turn of enemy shooting after they get to the CC. Can be made to work with careful positioning and moving.
- Axe/Shield. Too few attacks... if you're footslogging this is better for better survability (and since you have zero maneuverability you're more likely to face people in 2+ armor).

Wraithguard is heavily overpriced for what it can achieve. I'd stay away from them unless you plan to field a fluffy Iyanden force.
