I am just starting a necron army and have never played a necron army before, any advice would be helpful. Here it is,
HQ: Nemesor Zahndrek
Vargard Obyron
Over lord w/res orb w/ warscythe and mindshackle scarabs
Troops: 10 warriors w/ Zahndrek in night scythe
10 warriors w/ lord
10 Immortals w/obyron
Elites: Death Marks
Lych Guard w/ 5 hyper phase swords and shield
Fast Attack: 3 Wraiths w/2 whip coils

I know that the lych guard are not the best but I want to keep them because I love the models. Thanks.

Really you should have your heavy slots filled with barges. They are probs the best unit in the book.

Lych guard but you want to keep them, death marks too because without either greater numbers or a cryptek with leadership flamer they are moot. Also I think you have way too many points sunk info hqs. 2 special characters and a overlord? Realistically until you get to 1850ish you shouldn't have more than 1 hq as it limits the rest of your force.

I recommend you go out and have fun. Play your list about 3 times are so and be your own judge of where you think your army is lacking and then add or modify to fill the roles you find you're missing.

The deathmarks with a cryptek is a great combo. I think you'll find with your list that your wraiths will be your biggest punch and you'll want to flesh out the support around them.

I really want to keep the lych guard and I am thinking about getting rid of the overlord, but then what is the point of the lych guard if there is nobody to protect. Also Do you think the 2 special characters are worth it or should i just have an overlord. I will definantely add a cryptek to the deathmarks. I also found an error in my list and just edited it.

I'm not an expert by any means.

but Annihilation Barges are amazing.

Thursday I went up against a CSM/Daemon Nurgle list and man handled it, without the concede, I would have tabled them only losing 1 gun and 2 warriors.

My list was
Overlord - res, weave, scythe
Lord - Res
Destructek

15 warriors in scythe
15 warriors + ghost ark* royal court and Overlord with these (was trying to get my overlord to the other group when they disembarked never did lol)

6 wraiths

2 Annihilation barges.


Basically the barges can control the battlefield, I used wraiths to stop the lord+black mace from getting anywhere, I used the wraiths to keep 1 set of plague marines from moving towards the barges, and I used the warriors with barge to guard the objective near my line.

I have no experience with lychgards, zahndrek, obyron, or immortals, but what I do know is that Warriors power is great with numbers.

I would say at 1500 pts, having both zahndrek and obyron isn't point efficient.

But.....there is a nice combi with the two of them, he can have obryon and the lychgard teleport next to zandrek for a big alpha strike in enemies deployment zone. Suddenly having 10 immortals, 8 lychguard and 2 special characters to deal with can be a nightmare

Here is an edited list that I just created, I would really like to keep the 2 hqs: and the lychguard Just because I like the models. I could possibly get rid of one of my hq's, but I want to keep at least one of them.
