Hello fellow gamers,

I am brand new to Malifaux and I just bought the lady justice guilds judgment box set with 6 figs and a pack of 3 riflemen. I have looked around and really like the guild for their design and yet I have no idea about this game other than I have heard its a lot of fun. What do I need to play this game? I know the second edition rules are coming out so should I wait on them?

This miniature list is everything I currently own for the Malifaux game. My crew so far is this:

Lady justice
The judge
Scales of justice
3 riflemen
3 death marshals

There are arsenal packs, do I need to get one or did I get a second edition box that will have the updated cards?

It's a bit confusing getting in while the game is undergoing a transition to a next edition. I want to make sure I don't buy anything I won't need due to the edition change.

You should get arsenal packs- they come with the updated rules and some upgrades not available separately. The second half of models (including your riflemen) are still in open beta testing (you can download the files from their forums), but will be released in a second wave of decks in the future.

You should get a rulebook- they've got the new mini one on prerelease this weekend or you can get the regular one (difference is size, model rules, and fluff, none of which are necessary though I prefer the big one)

You'll need a fate deck (a regular card deck with two differentiated jokers will do).

There have been a very small number of pieces that have changed base size, and nothing has in guild. The metal line is transitioning to plastic, but all the old models are still legal.

As a note, you probably won't need multiples past one pack of guys (for instance, getting another pack of death marshals or riflemen won't be useful)

I bought the mini rulebook, a deck of fate cards and the guild arsenal wave 1 box set.

Cannot wait to get this rolling on the tabletop!
