Are these very effective vehicles for the DE army? Looking at buying one or both of these for my DE Both are really nice looking models but 220 bucks for the pair is a bit steep.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs

Reaper is passable, Tantalus isn't. The Reaper is comparable to a Ravager, who does anti tank worse but makes up for it with variability of targeting infantry/monstrous creatures. He is slightly more expensive then the ravage I believe, but is more effective vs AV 12 stuff which lances struggle with. Suffers a lot from single shot syndrome, so allied elder for guide support will do a world of good. Does not replace ravagers, maybe take 2 ravagers and one of these for verity instead of the usual 3 ravagers. Model wise be aware they are incredibly spindly to put together (FW have said they aren't making new DE models because too many of their designers died of getting impaled putting this thing together) and quite fragile, but they look lovely. Remember you only have to hit to cause the D3 haywire hits, and then you can cause an additional glance/pen with the strength 7 shot. So that's a possible 4 hullpoints (Which will only ever be useful vs defilers or necron stuff because he can't scratch AV 14). I like them because IF they hit, they are more reliable then Ravagers at removing transports through hullpoints then ravagers are to explode them.

I prefer the Tantalus...

Perfect delivery vehicle for large assaulty squads... plus having 12 str5 ap2 shots is delicious.

Think I will go with a reaper. Shopping for my Christmas present, the Tantalus is a beautiful looking vehicle(like most of the DE range) but the price point is a bit high for a transport especially since I am not fielding an assault army. Maybe in the future with a Sliscus shooting squad,(pacing out my army buys for once to keep up with my friends enabling me to actually detail paint my army for the first time as opposed to an army partially detailed and partially three color tabletop). The reaper is something I think I can use immediately and doesn't cost a hundred and fifty bucks heheh. I figure with two Talos and two or three scourge squads, the bullet magnetness of a reaper will go down in priority letting it and my venom and raider gunboats get some shots off.
