First of, hello to everyone. It's a pleasure to be here at Dakka.

I'm new too wargaming, tried fantasy a few editions ago( Vampire Counts). But for reasons unknown even too me, I never really continued playing.

But recently I was convinced by a friend to start 40k, played a few matches with his IG, and really got into it.

So now, we have recruited a few friends and plan to start a campaign at a 1000p. Low point cost, since everyone, except one, is starting from scratch.

I choose to start with Necrons, so hoped to get some help with a 1000p armylist( I have not bought any models yet, planning to create a army list first).

I will play against .
Imperial Guards
Chaos Space Marine ( Black Legion)
Eldar
Tau
Tyranids
Dark Angels

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to dakkadakka

First of all if you don't know how to make an army with necrons, I suggest this website to you - http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/6th_Edition_Tactics/Necrons

It's a good idea to google 1000 necron army lists just so you get an idea of what is best to field and stuff
I'm not a necron player myself so I can't tell you how to build a good necron army but read guides and other army lists and you will get the hang of how necrons work-the weaknesses and strengths

Good luck!

I would suggest you buy the necron battleforce and the Catacomb Command Barge, and a cryptek or overlord or two.

I would suggest you have something along these lines for 1000 pts
1 Overlord warscythe, mindshackle scarabs on CCB
1 Harbinger of Destruction
10 Warriors with Ghost Ark
10 Warriors on Foot
5 Gauss Immortals with your Destructek
5 Scarabs (really good anti-armour)

This should put you somewhere around 800 pts. Which gives you room for an additional unit or two of troops if you want, or a nicely kitted out Lord, or a more heavily wargeared Overlord, or even an additional Cryptek.

In fact, I'd buy the battle force. It gives you a decent start. I've also bought it but then decided to sell the Ghost Ark which doesn't suit my play style. The Warriors and Immortals (instead of Deathmarks) give you a core to begin with.

Battleforce + barge (made as annihilatiion with separate overlord) make about 750 points as a good start.
