is there any definitive place where 40k tournaments are listed?

I live in Bristol and although warhammer world is fun to visit it is a decent hike and I used up my invulnerable save getting permission from the rest of the family.

I would prefer - one-day events but weekend 2-day is possible.

You'll struggle to find anything truly definitive as they get posted up all over the place but I maintain a listings site (see link in my signature) which is generally as close as you're going to get

Well if you live in Bristol you are close to one of the best UK tournaments and Clubs, Bristol Vanguard who run Vanquish every year.

That's a great club, great tournament with amazing tables etc and not an official GW event so you get some lovely painted and converted armies.

Funny you should mention that! I'm developing a website that will allow players to be notified about local tournaments. If a user creates a tournament it would then send out an email to everyone within a player-specified-distance and who has specified the game system alerting them to the fact that the tournament exists. One option the TO would have would be to allow players to register via the website - but that won't be a requirement. I hope to be beta testing it at my club early next year (hopefully by March 2014).

It'll do some other stuff, too. Initially I was trying to develop something very similar to Torrent of Fire but Chip Boyd beat me to it

Once it's out of beta I'll probably start posting announcements about it around the interweb...still need to come up with a cool name though. The project is called Tournament Management System. Sounds like IBM made it...besides www.tms.com is already taken...
