So I'm somewhat new to WH40k and was wondering what the stats are for the combi plasma, combi flamer and combi melta. I have the new codex and I cant seem to find it, is it just the stats from the base gun + twin linked?

Some help would be appriciated

I am changed . . . an outcast now.

combi- means you have the base gun (bolt gun for CSM) +1 shot in the entirety of the game of what ever is listed. So for plasma look at the plasma gun profile, flamer look at the flamer profile, melta look at the melta gun profile.

Just to clarify, if you had a combi-plasma you could choose in one turn to shoot plasma instead of your bolt gun, and then can never shoot plasma again from that models combi-weapon. And a combi-bolter as you said is simply a boltgun that is twin-linked

This. You get one shot with the other weapon profile over the course of the game.

Soooooo say my Sorcerer has a bolt pistol and I give him a combi bolter he....

A- He is now capable of shooting 24" and rapid firing at 12" with twinlinked

or

B- He has a bolt pistol AND a boltgun now and the rifle is twinlinked

or am I just dumb?

Okay, I will admit it has been quite a while since I looked at marine troops that carry something other then sonic blasters and blastmasters so correct me if I am wrong, but I thought it was storm-bolters that had Twinlinked?

No. Storm Bolters are Assault 2. Combi-bolters are twin-linked.

He can shoot 1 shot at 12" range with the pistol and then charge
He can shoot 1 shot at 24" range with the combi bolter (twinlinked)
He can rapid fire the combi-bolter at 12" range (twinlinked), but may not charge.

(if I've read this right and the model is armed with a combi bolter and a bolt pistol...)

Ok, so if i give my sorcerer said combi-bolter then I can only fire the bolter part of the weapon one time per game?!

does it twinlink his bolt pistol?

What I listed was per game turn

To all intents and purposes combi bolter = twin linked bolter.

Combi plasma you get to fire as a plasma gun once per game.
Combi Melta you get to fire as a melta gun once per game.
Combi Bolter - fire it every turn, it counts as twin linked.

A combi bolter is not the same as a combi-weapon. Combi-bolters are clearly defined on page 65 of the chaos codex. Combi weapons are in the brb.

If you dont have twinlinked in a weapon profile or a special rule that gives it, then it isnt twinlinked.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.
