Looking over and playing around with Battlescribe list creation, I realized many army catalogs conform to the same FOC structure for Apoc lists as they do normal 40k even though there is no FoC or restrictions in Apoc.

When you create a list for Apoc, do you find it useful to break down what is coming from HQ, Elite, etc.? Do you find yourself just listing out model after model until the point limit is up - caring only about formations? If you use something like Battle Scribe, would you find it useful if there was a more straight forward list that only identified "Units" and "Formations"?

I group them by type (Troop, HQ, Elite) on a spreadsheet, just to keep it neat and tidy.

I group them in the TO&E that my regiment would actually field them in (It helps that there are names and numbers painted on the tanks).

i buy what models I wnat to play with, THEN
I try to make sure I have at least some anti tank, anti air, etc.

I don't really pay attention to FOC slot, other than to just help organize the list (like kronk said).

For me, the best part of apoc is not caring if a unit is "good".
Its about having fun with the models you think are cool, but never play with in a normal game.

For example, this weekend I played in a big apoc game, I was playing my tau.

Yeah, I had one riptide (we needed something useful).

But I also had a TON of stealthsuits, about 20 vespids and a bunch of remoras, heck, I was even going to put in heavy gun drones. It was a lot of fun.....we lost, but I had a great day.

Speaking of Battlescribe and Apocalypse units, has anyone found a file that incorporates Escalation and Stronghold Assault yet?
(all my searches have been fruitless, Google has failed me...)

Yikes, hadn't noticed the date. Hopefully two weeks isn't long enough to count as thread necromancy.

I don't think two weeks is too much.

I haven't played Apo yet, but when I begin I imagine I will know what I have, at least until I go 5K+
