Can you take clan raukaan as primary and allie with iron hands from the main codex?

1st question. Do the units from Clan Raukaan come from something other than the Space Marines Codex?
2nd Question. Do the units from Clan Raukaan have something other than the Iron Hands chapter tactics?
3rd Question. Does the Clan Raukaan supplement specifically allow this kind of alliance, the way the Black Legion supplement does?

If you can answer yes to any of these question, the answer to your question will also be yes.

I don't think the 1st question matters at all. The 2nd and 3rd are the important ones IMHO. Unless you have permission to answer yes to 2 and 3 it being a supplement to the codex has no bearing on the discussion.

OP, the answer to your question is yes. It'd be the same as having Clan Raukaan as allies with, say, imperial guard. Except as battle brothers.

Got any quote or reference that would support that?

And that answer is wrong.

Clan Raukaan are Space Marines with the Iron Hands Chapter Tactics with No special allowance to ally with other SMw/IHCT.

No you cannot ally Clan Raukaan with Iron Hands(not that you would really need to)

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

It matters because if the units are from a different codex then the 2nd to questions can both be answered "no".

It's not a different codex it's a supplement to a codex. It's not codex clan raukan, it's an extension of codex SM with a few extra bells and whistles.

For the same reason you cannot take ultramarines and ally them with ultramarines successor chapters you cannot do this.

Never said it was a different codex.

No you said the units could be from a different codex which I responded to. Again it's not a different codex, nor an amalgam of codices. It is just a supplement to C:SM.

When determining the validity of any primary/allied detachment paring is weather or not those detachments would come from the same codex important?

That's not a sentence.
If you're asking does it matter if the detachments both come from the same codex matters, the answer is yes. If the units within those detachments come from the same codex... not so much. See the Tau codex and supplement where there are new units, it's still tau just Tau that can ally with C:Tau. It's not the different units that give the permission to ally, it's the clearly defined statement in the supplement that allows the alliance with a force from the main codex and the alliance rules in the brb.

As it stands only the supplements and chapter tactics allow you to ally with yourself. You can't have DA allied with DA but you can have SM allied with SM.

Yeah, the Farsight Enclaves supplement has this statement, which is why you can ally tau with farsight.
ALLIES
In addition to following the Allies Matrix for Codex: Tau Empire, Farsight Enclaves detachments and Codex: Tau Empire detachments may ally together as Battle Brothers.

The difference here vs Space Marines that Codex: Space Marines states that while 2 Space Marine detachments can be allied together, they each have to have different chapter tactics. So for the OP, Clan Raukaan cannot ally with an Iron Hands detachment since they both use the same Chapter Tactics. That said though, they could ally with any other SM chapter (i.e. White Scars, Black Templars, etc.).
