As a side army I picked up some nids the other day and decided that assembling and painting my Flyrant would be one of the more enjoyable models. I went with a relatively easy paintjob so I can replicate it across hordes of gaunts without painting till my 60's and here's how he's come out:

It's very striking. The wing skin looks very fleshy, and that contrasts nicely with how solid and clean yet subtly detailed the chitin is.
