I recently inherited a largish collection of Epic 40k stuff. I'm taking stock of it to trade it off, but I have a question, since I don't actually play it.

One of the boxed sets is incomplete. Is Epic 40k a game where you have to have every model from the boxed sets in order to use them? (Like Stratego?) Or is it like regular ol' 40k where you assemble a force composed of variable units? In other words, is it worth it to try and trade the remaining models off piecemeal?

It is not like Stratego. It's like 40K in that you build your force to your liking (and what models you have)…just on a tinier scale with a lot more stuff (numbers wise) on the board. Depending on what you have, you can make a killing selling/trading piecemeal. …So…what do you have? =D

To answer your question, Kaiser, I have the 2nd edition box set (with all the models save for the titan, which is missing several pieces, so I was going to use the body as a dreadnought) sans buildings. I also have a complete Stompers box set, containing all the models. I have an Ork Invasion box set, with all the models still new on the sprue. Finally, I have twelve loose ork battlewagons with deffrollas.

If the game's not complete, you might get more money if you split them into individual companies/units.

Ebays random with Epic. The Stompers and Invasion box will both do well on their own the box set less so. Equally some people will want the rules books dice and templates.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
