First of all, the game I'm planning with my friend will be friendly, so we have seen the general pieces of the other's list. He's using Imotekh, which means lots of night fighting, but I was already planning on bringing cover-ignoring stuff. He surprisingly will be deep striking very little; just a scythe and monolith. I also have no fliers. Anyways, here we go with my plan (again):
Spoiler:

CCS: 100
Vox
3x Plasma

CCS: 185
"I ate a landshark for breakfast" Straken
4x Melta

PBS: 110
Fully loaded
Will use Codex powers

Platoon: 290
PCS 4x Flamer
IS Vox, Plasma
IS Plasma
HWS Lascannons (Hey, they'll have cover saves)

2x Vets: 200
3x Melta
Shotguns

2x Hellhound: 290
2x multimelta

2x Colossus: 280

Total: Wait, 1555? Lolnope, 1455. I carried an extra 1, it seems. I'm 45 points UNDER budget. Wow, I'm just amazing. Dakka kills my arithmetic (I'm in calculus, I swear! Derivatives and integrals!). Anyways, I'll fix up my list.

Here's the current plan: Use the non-Straken CCS and the platoon as a basic gunline. The colossus tanks will stay on the back edge, hitting Necron backfield, while the Hellhounds hang out alongside the gunline to address scarabs and co. that give my artillery any dirty looks and cover shot range and midfield. Straken, and vets will all move up and pop vehicles and assault Warrior squads if they get the chance. Psykers put yet another high strength pie-plate in play, they could reinforce the gunline or hide behind the assaults squads and Weaken Resolve.

Fixed up list, forgive me for my ridiculousness:
Spoiler:

CCS, 3x plasma - 95

CCS, 4x melta, "ate-a-landshark" Straken - 185

PBS, full squad of 9 SP - 110

Platoon - 285
PCS, 4x Flamer (50)
2x IS, plasma (130)
Lascannon HWS (105)

2x Vets, 3x melta each - 200

Taxi, most likely for a vet squad - 55

2x Hellhound, 2x multimelta - 290

2x nekked Colossus - 280
(Colossi? Colossuses?)

Grand Total: 1500 precisely. I did my math on paper this time, trust me. Same strategy stands: Small little gunline flanked by Hellhounds in front of Colossus tanks, the rest go up and harass some Necrons.

Addendum: Having shared my list with my friend, he's revealed that a cryptek with reroll 1D6 per turn for anyone in unit upgrade is chilling with Imotehk, which will almost certainly prolong night-fighting for most of the game.
