Wondering if anyone had some advice or improvements to make to my first IG List!

Imperial Guard Army List 1500pts

HQ: Commissar, Company Command Squad

Troops: Platoon 1 - Command Squad - Med-Pack, Regimental Standard, Carapace Armour, Officer Of The Fleet, 2 Melta-Guns
- Squad 1 - Krak Grenades, Grenade Launcher, Caster, Autocannon, Commissar
- Squad 2 - Krak Grenades, Grenade Launcher, Caster, Autocannon
- Squad 3 - Krak Grenades, Grenade Launcher, Caster, Autocannon
Platoon 2 - Squad 1 - Flamer, Autocannon
- Squad 2 - Flamer, Autocannon

Heavy Support: 2 Hydra Tanks, Extra Armour
LRBT, Lascannon, Plasma Cannons, Dozer Blade, Extra Armpir

Fast Attack: 2 Vendettas, 2 Hellfury Missiles, Heavy Bolters

Well besides from the fact the list is utterly boring and themeless

from a competative view

The leman russ doesnt need plasma cannons as its ordinance.

Also your company command squad could do with some upgrades so id take the plasmas off and the nbolters off the vandettas and use those points to beef out the command squads.

Maybe having the hydras is over kill due to having the vandettas, maybe take out the hydras for some more troops or light tanks depending on your target enemies?

Also if you can spare the points camo netting is great on stationary tanks. Saved me so many hull points.

Drop the splat cannon on the russ, the sponsons and give it camo. OoTF belongs in the CCS. GLs are of limited use but good when lucky (I made terminators run off the field with one, after chasing it across the board). The points saved from the sponsons I would give to the squads, give them a meltagun in my opinion. Then I would put either plasma guns on the CCS. What purpose does that commissar give you? He seems like a better use of 35 points unless you think GLs can fend off tanks. Also the vendettas do not need hellfury missles, your lascannons are TL and they are death.

The Hydras should regularly give you 2 hits per ground shooting, but thats 150 points for 4 autcannon shots a turn that might actually land. With vendettas you can drop the Hydras and take up a 3rd guard platoon or shove another LRBT into the list and have them all independent of each other.

If you don't have a theme just go for IG gun line.

Hq- lord commisar:70

Troops- vets with camo cloaks and defense nades and auto cannon/HB 110pts
same as above 110pts
same as above 110pts
same as above 110pts

Fast- vendetta 130pts
same as above 130pts

Defense- ageis defense line with quad gun 100pts

Heavy- basilisk 125pts

This list is 1495pts and the way it works is simple.

Everything sits behind defense line and has a nice 3+ cover save, commisar shoot quadgun and gives all units within 6"
Ld10, Vendettas come in and kill any AV or flyers that didn't die to interception (commisar on quadgun). and basilisk kills grouped up units or Av or even both with strength 9 and ord.
