An idea came to my mind and I immediately made a list. I will test it tomorrow against my Eldar TAC list.

2000 points

HQ
Tigurius
Coteaz

Elite
3x Acolyte in Valkyrie (2x Multiple Rocket Pods, 2x Heavy Bolter)
3x Acolyte in Valkyrie (2x Multiple Rocket Pods, 2x Heavy Bolter)

Troops
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Combi-Melta in Rhino
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Combi-Melta in Rhino
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Combi-Melta, Multi-Melta (in a Stormraven)

Fast Attack
Stormtalon (Skyhammer)
Stormtalon (Skyhammer)

Heavy Support

5x Centurion Devastator Squad (Omniscope, 5x Grav-Cannon)
Stormraven (TL Multi-Melta, TL Assault Cannon)

I will probably use Storm Wing rules for the Ultramarines Flyers.
Centurions have a very high chance of getting spells like Forewarning or Invisibility. In addition to that spells like Psychic Shriek, Misfortune, Puppet Master and others will also prove to be very useful.
Coteaz adds "interceptor" to the Centurion deathstar.
I can have up to 8 scoring units.

I think the strategy is pretty straightforward. What do YOU think about this list?
What could possibly be done better?

It's pretty solid. If you're really daring, you could roll for Gate of Infinity. Sure, if you roll doubles on scatter you lose an 80+ point model, but then you'd still have 4 grav centurions in their face. Don't forget Prescience and Perfect Timing, perhaps the most important powers to buff the gravs.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

I'm glad that I am not the only one thinking of running a Coteaz+Tigurius+Centurions. I'll list a few suggestions!

- 5 fliers puts a lot of pressure on reserve rolls. Gift of Prescience does not work on the valks either.

- use the new "Formation Data-slate" for 2 Talons and a Raven get some free rules! (They all come in off of 1 roll)

- Take full advantage of Coteaz by running those dirt cheap acolyte "troops" Consider cutting down on marines and upping the # of Acolytes.

- Be aware running troops in fliers can be a serious liability against opponents who can kill the flier.

- Adding a xenos inquisitor with Divination and 3 servo skulls will help you twin link a TFC while your men advance, will reduce scatter on all templates, hurt scouts&infiltrators. It's also only 64 points!

- Consider going HAM on those centurions and shell out the points for Missiles.

I'm really a big fan of the Div Inquisitor with Servo Skulls as well. I'd cut a Centurion for him - 4 Centurions with TL + Ignores Cover is usually enough to get the job done anyways.

Eldar got the first turn and before the air came he got 2 full turns of shooting. Centurions just died. Neither did Valkyries do anything.
The MVPs were Stormtalons. Having a 360' arc of shooting with its Assault Cannon and the ability to change into a skimmer is huge. Stormraven also did ok.
I think that what Centurions lack is not firepower but the mobility.

Next time I will use something similar to this:

HQ
Tigurius

Troops
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Multi-Melta in a Rhino
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Multi-Melta in a Rhino
10x Tactical Squad with Melta, Combi-Melta (in a Stormraven)
5x Scout Squad

Fast Attack
Stormtalon (Skyhammer)
Stormtalon (Skyhammer)
Stormtalon (Skyhammer)

Heavy Support
5x Centurion Devastator Squad (Omniscope, 5x Grav-Cannon) (in a Land Raider)
Land Raider (Multi-Melta, Extra Armour)
Stormraven (TL Multi-Melta, TL Assault Cannon)

Stormraven is good at killing other aircraft (which most Eldar players don't run), destroying heavy tanks (which Eldar don't really have) or delivering assault troops (which you don't have). So until you start seeing those situations the Stormraven will underperform. Also I'd trade the TL AC for TL Las, no reason to split its role when you have 3x Stormtalon.

Did Tiggy's GoI not give them enough mobility? That seems strange.

Also dislike running a single Land Raider in a list. Very easy and tempting melta alpha strike target. Target saturation is the way to go, imo.

...Totally forgot about the Gate of Infinity...

Now I'm not sure whether I should play again using the first list or change the second one.

Glad I said something then. That is kind of the whole point of taking Tiggy with them, by the way

A sudden change in the effectiveness of the first list.
Space Marines stole the initiative (thanks to Coteaz). Centurions killed the Wraithknight on the first turn + the split firing sergeant took a Wave Serpent down. Due to the alpha strike and good positioning (space marines were initially second and deployed everything on one flank so they denied most of the War Walkers' shooting on their first turn) Centurions didn't take as much damage as anticipated and Eldar had to use more resources than last game to eventually finish them. Than due to my lack of experience playing flyers and superior knowledge of commanding Eldar army the Elves got the upper hand.
Eldar got 13 points while Air Cavalry scored 11. I think this list did very good taking into account this was the second time me playing it (and this codex).

As I have never faced Centurions before it is a very valuable experience. From now on I should fear those Space Marine Space Marines.
