Hi, I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my list! I'll be facing Battlesuit Tau, so I tailored my list to suit them.

HQ :
1 Chaos Lord (Warlord) with Mark of Nurgle, fearless, Terminator armor (Deep striking with Terminators) 120pts
1 Company Command Squad with Standard, vox caster, grenade launcher 75pts
1 Chaos sorcerer with Melta Bombs, jump pack, mastery level increase x1, mark of Nurgle (Deep striking with Raptors) 120pts

Elites:
4 Chaos Terminators with Mark of Nurgle (Deep striking) 150pts

Fast Attack:
5 Chaos Raptors with Flamer (Deep striking) 100pts

Troops:
7 Plague Marines with 2 Melta Guns, dedicated Rhino (plain) 228pts
7 Plague Marines with 2 Plasma Guns, dedicated Rhino (plain) 228pts
10 Imperial Guardsmen Veterans with Vox Caster, Grenade Launcher 80pts

Heavy Support:
1 Chaos Vindicator with Demonic Possession, Dozer Blades, Combi Bolter 145pts
1 Lemen Russ Vanquisher with Pask, Lascannon, Plasma Sponsons, Camo netting 260pts

My plan for the game would be to attempt to rush any objectives with the plague marines, then camp those while my heavy support blasts away oncoming battle suits, guardsmens, Lemen Russes, and possible Riptides... damn Riptides. My deepstriking units would hopefully come in by turn two, and in doing so take out as much as possible.

Also, what would my best bet for psychic powers be if I were to run the Sorcerer alongside the deep striking Raptors? What if they weren't deepstriking? Is it even worth deepstriking them?

Also also, if I were to use a special character as an HQ, who might I want to go with?

My Spare Units: 12 more marine models (I useregular CSM models as "counts-as" Plague Marines), 3 Bikers, 20 Cultists, 1 more terminator, and 1 helbrute.

A deep striking sorcerer is kinda weird because the best powers are maledictions and blessings..

I can't really comment on much else in this list except for the Psychic side, so I will say that you should probably deploy the Raptors with the sorcerer on the board. Protected, of course. Chaos is more powerful when it has as many units as possible on the board. Don't worry about giving up First Blood with the Raptors.. You've got Rhinos, so that's already a liability for that.

Try for Hallucination/Invisibility. Failing that, try for Endurance, Life Leech, Puppet Master or even Flame Breath depending upon opponent. I would really try to get a Melta Gun for those Raptors because the Sorcerer is perfect for a Psychic Shriek followed up by a charge with Endurance or Iron Arm up after splitting off and letting the Raptors do what they do best: Kill tanks for cheap.

Yeah, learned the hard way that you can't cast those after deep striking. Consider mark of tzeench since most are witch fires or other shooty attacks if you deep strike. Also pyromancy would work.

A force weapon may be useful if you are ML2 and challenging for a possible instant death me lee attack.

But, I agree overall with the "start on the board" with raptors and sorcerer. With 12" move, they can get places quickly and take advantage of scattered cover.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, consider blight grenades for lord. Mark of Nurgle on terminators kind of expensive for what is a pretty durable unit already.

For tau, you want to take out marker lights first if possible. You need large numbers of bodies to absorb fire.

Plague marines are great, but melta really limits range and is really only for AV. I would go plasma on both squads. Gets hot not as much a concer since you get both armor and FNP saves.

Good luck!
