I have some questions regarding the DA rules that the codex does not clarify. can anyone help?

1. can my HQ take more than one chapter relic? (ie. shroud of heroes AND mace of redemption)

2. does the standard of devastation affect all bolter type weapons? (ie. bike-mounted bolters, hurricane bolters, combi-bolters, storm bolters and EVEN heavy bolters)

3. is a model reduced to zero toughness by rad shells destroyed?

4. does a model reduced to initiative zero by stasis shells or bombs merely strike AFTER models at initiative one, or do they lose the ability to attack at all.

5. does a model reduced to WS zero by stastis shells or bombs lose its ability to attack in assault and get automatically hit when attacked due to zero WS?

6. do units from the Black Legion supplement count as CSM for the perpuse of the Bane of Traitor and Inner Circle?

Also, does anyone know why the Company master does not get Grim Resolve or ATSKNF and whether the DA are effected by rule changes from the C:SM such as the new locator beacon or grav weapons or any of the new vehicles or units. also can dark angels scouts take a speeder as a dedicated transport?

thanks

1. Yes

2. does the standard of devastation affect all bolter type weapons? (ie. bike-mounted bolters, hurricane bolters, combi-bolters, storm bolters and EVEN heavy bolters)
2. Only boltguns are affected (so no storm bolters/ heavy bolters/etc.).

3. is a model reduced to zero toughness by rad shells destroyed?
3.You can't be reduced to zero as the -1 penalty is not cumulative (it says "every model in a unit hit by one or more rad shells suffers a -1 penalty to toughness...)

4. does a model reduced to initiative zero by stasis shells or bombs merely strike AFTER models at initiative one, or do they lose the ability to attack at all.
4.You can't be reduced below 1I. (FAQ)

5. does a model reduced to WS zero by stastis shells or bombs lose its ability to attack in assault and get automatically hit when attacked due to zero WS?
5.Same as initiative; reduced to a minimum of 1.

6. do units from the Black Legion supplement count as CSM for the perpuse of the Bane of Traitor and Inner Circle?
6.Yes

Also, does anyone know why the Company master does not get Grim Resolve or ATSKNF and whether the DA are effected by rule changes from the C:SM such as the new locator beacon or grav weapons or any of the new vehicles or units. also can dark angels scouts take a speeder as a dedicated transport?
Because he has fearless from the Inner Circle SR (should still have ATSKNF in case of terrify). No, C:SM has no impact at all on C: DA (except to mock us) nor do we gain anything from them (didn't expect the vehicles or units anyway, but feth off with the grav weapons and White Scars that was really low). C: DA doesn't have a LS Storm, so no speeder dedicated transport for your scouts.

thanks

Specifically regarding number 2, as I think Iron's answer could be misinterpretted. Combi-Bolters, bike Bolters and hurricane Bolters are affected.

This is covered in the DA FAQ

Although that makes total sense rules-wise, considering that in the fluff the dark angels have especially advanced archeotech, you would think that things like centurions, grav weapons, stalkers and hunters would be especially common in the dark angels chapter.

I agree with some of the units should be part of the DA dex however the dark angels being "anti-social" as they are it would make sense that they don't have access to the newer tech (ie. centurions, stalkers, and hunters. i am under the impression that they are new to the 40k vers like the blood raven was). however i do think we should have grav weapons being that they are old tech but what ever i still think that the dark angels should be the only chapter with plasma in there tac units....... but thats just me wanting GW to stop taking away the things that make the Dark Angels unique. I am more or less talking about older editions of the codex than the current one about the "unique" thing though.

Hi - just on question 2. Couple of things that a tricksy opponent tried on me last week.

"2. does the standard of devastation affect all bolter type weapons?"

B) Salvo in overwatch - He was claiming that because i'd moved in my movement phase I could not salvo at full 4 shots in overwatch at the charging vanguard squad.
DO NOT ALLOW THAT. The wording of salvo isnt great but it clearly states that you use the "2" shots only if you moved in the prreceding movement phase. As its been his turn (hes charging) then you can't have moved so you fire at the full 4 shots having been stationary in his movement phase.

B) Twin Linked & salvo? - He tried to claim that because SALVO replaces all profile its no longer twin linked. This was on my hurricane bolters. Rather that it just becomes salvo. NOPE. Its still a twin liked set of three boltguns.

Good luck with the second one as its more ambiguous.

first question I am sorry to say my friend but your friend is right you would only get 2 shots in overwatch because you moved in your last movement phase.

as for the twin linked thing there was a faq on the GW website however it dose not address this problem. however i had a chance to ask 3 other people that run tournaments in this area and we all agree that the standard only changes the style of weapon and not the other special rules that the guns have. if your friend had his way then any combi weapons in the unit could not use the special weapon part of the gun.

so in short yes you still get twin linked.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Salvo weapons do have a very unclear description but it does not mention when the model neeeds to have moved in order to be forced to use the lower number.

RAI, your friend may be right, or maybe your right. We'd need an FAQ entry to find out and we have none.
RAW, if the model moved, at all, ever it fires at the lower number. While this is not HIWPI nor do I think this is the RAI it is the RAW we have.

DJ i just want to start that i dont dissagree with what you are saying i am just takeing a "logical" approch to the situation so let me explain my point of view. Think of the game as a real time strategey game like Starcraft. Now the Dark Angels are charging forward during there turn shooting holy death tward there enemy in hopes to kill them on the move. Now at the same time the vanguard squad are charging forward into oncomeing fire. So my point is that the Dark Angel movement phase and shooting are both happening at the same time as the vanguard are charging forward there for the Dark Angels would not get as stable of shots unlike if there feet were fermly planted.

So in conclusion i do beleave that i am going off of RAI for this situation but to me it makes more sence. Getting 4 shots all of the time for overwatch sounds a little OP to me.
