You cannot reroll a reroll. Its in the brb around page 6.
A good compromise that was suggested on this forum recently was roll, ignore the result, roll again and go by the 2nd result. If you hit or miss with the first roll you must re-roll so just go by the 2nd.
Personally I prefer when issues like this come up to just roll once as it is effectively the same.

HIWPI is like the above poster, but would discus it with my opponent before I rolled the dice to see what he/she thought.

Was this something that changed in Escalation? Because the Apocalypse version of titan holofields is a separate "save" to negate a hit and has nothing to do with the to-hit roll.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

It is worded the same in Escalation as in Apocalypse. But the OP brings up an interesting point, looking at it now the holofield is a forced confirmation of the hit but uses fixed rolls instead of the firing unit using it's BS. This is less cut and dry than resolving reroll misses vs reroll hits where most people I know just say those effects cancel each other out.

No, there's nothing confusing about it at all. You roll to-hit as normal, including re-rolls/ BS modification/etc. Once you have completely resolved the to-hit roll you roll for the holofield and potentially discard the hit, which is NOT the same as failing the to-hit roll. Essentially it's a "save" that isn't technically a save.
