Subject: Mangler Squigs Movement Question

The Mangler Squigs have two rules that seem to go against each other.
Random Movement says that if your move would take you into a friendly unit, to stop 1" away.
Kersplat! mentions that when the mangler moves through a unit, friend or foe, that it takes damage.
So does that mean that when I move the mangler ( before it hits anything and moves randomly on its own), I can attempt to send it through one of my own units to sling shot it a further distance ( which I think is what this means and allows), or would I have to stop away 1" of that friendly unit?

when you loose control of the mangler squig it starts moving like a fanatic Automatically Appended Next Post: to add to that, you cannot voluntarily throw the mangler into one of your units while you still have control of it, that's why the 1" move stop is there

The Mangler movement is random.. You pick a direction and then move base on 3D6. As the Ker-splat! rule states, if the move would bring them into contact with a another unit, then they move through rather than stopping. (ong pg 56) It does not state enemy or friendly. Yes if your random movement does bring them into contact with a friendly unit, the mangler will go though them.

This is a classic case of Army Book/Codex trumps Rulebook. The random movement, as you quite rightly pointed out, stops you moving through a friendly unit. However, the army book's "Ker-splat!" rule trumps this, and hence you follow what said rule dictates.

enjoy shooting your mangler squigs through your own buses. It's great.
Makes a good tactic to hide a mangler behind a bus, and run him into board edge taking dangerous terrain each turn, then throwing him through the bus finally once it's double charged by chimeras or something.
