Has anyone ever made a printable template of the wave serpent, say top down and/or side view, for purposes of trying out paint schemes?
What about troop templates? I seem to recall years ago someone had SM templates.

I'm toying with the idea of an Egyptian themed eldar army.

Thanks.

Here a plastic version (with many colour options):

Blue Table Painting also once made them out of wood, but those seem discontinued.

I'm not sure if that template would work out for trying paint schemes though. It would be good for destroyed vehicle like it says or even a stand in.
I'm not 100% sure exactly what you are looking for though.

If you are just trying out a new paint scheme just take some guardians or even some jetbikes and just try your paint scheme.
If it doesn't work just strip the paint and your good to go

I was thinking of just a standard printer sheet, black lines layout of a Wave Serpent, that I could hand sketch layout designs on, before actually getting around to painting.

Think of a Starfleet battles SSD, without all of the internal system boxes. Just an outline of the ship.

Woops, should have read the first post better.

Here another Wave Serpent template:

Also see this:

But in the end, nothing beats a demo paint job on one test mini.

Something I just realized: The eldar learned to drive in the United States. The driver's "seat" is on the left side of the vehicle. Sorry, UK & Queen's realm folks.

Most of mainland Europe also drive on the right.

Err. Okay. Sorry to everyone else? Except the Canadians?

For the OP:
Here's an easy paint technique I got from someone else (ignore the gloating daemon) :

Here's a better:

It's called stippling. My apologies if you are well aware of it, but for talentless painters like myself, it's a great short cut. 'Net SEARCH ought to yield a good instructional.

Thanks for all of the replies!

Thanks Kroot, that will work!!

I was thinking of incorporating elements of ancient Egyptian art. Not too heavily, which is why I would want to plan it out first.
