So I'm working on a tau force, I was going for a teal (incubi darkness) paint scheme, with silver joints on the battle suits, but I need a secondary armor color for the details, any one know a color that would look good?

White would look good. As would black or grey.

I'd go with orange or yellow if it's a blueish colour you could also go with grey as well if your looking for a darker scheme.
There are some examples in the codex in some of the artwork on pgs - 34, 47 (piranhas)

Well if you wanted a brighter scheme i would say use bright orange for the secondary armour colour makes the models pop.

Orange works well with teal. Red can also work.

I was playing with the model painter, and the best look I have found so far is teal on white, but I heard white is harder to paint...

You could do bleached bone instead ??

But orange could also work if your into super bright colours

Teal on white would look pretty good. I think that's the best scheme I could think of that wasn't either too dark (since you want a light one) or just look really clashy and ridiculous. Tau seem to at least put some degree of camouflage and color matching into their armor.

Or, sinse I mostly play chaos, red/orange?

Id go with a nice off white, rakarth flesh compliments incubi darkness wonderfully!

I think Teal and Purple is pretty cool (Hornets). I prefer though Teal, White, Gray, Black (Sharks). If you're a really good painter, the last palate (a la peacock) I think would be pretty striking on the battle field.
Base your minis white if choosing any white. Black is a VERY bad choice for this scheme.
