The Forge World FAQ for Horus Heresy Betrayal states it is perfectly legal to run Horus Heresy armies against 40k armies albeit with no special characters. In this case wouldn't it make sense to allow HH armies ally with 40k armies? I think it is fairly reasonable but there is the status of the allies. I think it is safe to say Loyalists can be treated a normal SM and traitors CSM. But what about Loyalists armies of traitors like loyal World Eaters, loyal Night Lords, etc? I think they should be classified as SM but with Allies of convenience for otherImperial forces as you can expect a level of distrust between them. This is more so for casual games but any particular way you guys think this should be interpreted or added to?
