Deadly Dark Eldar Warrior

Australia

Hello everyone.

So recently I bought a box of regular Chaos Space Marines, and when I was assembling them I didn't really bear in mind which special weapons would be the best combination...

SO anyway, I ended up sticking a heavy bolter and flamer in the squad.

Now it is a fairly illogical, however I am reluctant to go tearing apart my already assembled and undercoated miniatures, so I've been thinking of how I can use them to my advantage.

My first though was Rhino rush, stick in a rhino, move 12 inches, shoot small squads to pieces, profit. Maybe even sticking mark of Slaanesh on them in case they get charged by survivors???

So Chaos Space Marines are a fairly new pursuit for me, having collected previously Dark Eldar and Necrons, so any advice on what I could do with this squad would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

Give them CCW, MoS and Icon of Excess, and you have an expensive mediocre squad. The Heavy Bolter is a waste there.

Or sit and lay down fire, rely on the flamer to add overwatch shots, maybe Icon of Vengence or VoTL and camp a point. Of course the Heavy Bolter is terrible here to.

3rd option, strip and reglue two models, get double plasma guns. Icon of Vengance, Rhino with Havoc Launcher, maybe a power axe or meltabombs or something for the champ if you have the points. Honesly the Rhino is only a good idea in some list.

My favorite option: Buy 4 plasma or melta guns. Paint em green. Call em plague marines. Get some bits if you feel the need. Give you lord a MoN.

I'm no veteran or anything but from my experience you don't want to field just regular CSM's 1. they are under powered 2. they cost to much for what they do 3. for the options they have ANY other squad would do better at any specific role

With that being said, you didn't do anything wrong, its whatever, its how YOU! want to play the game. I imagine your box of chaos came with 10 CSM's, you could make a Chaos lord and an 8 man squad of plague marines with x1 flamer x1 plasma gun and plasma pistol/power fist on the plague champ and that would be a good base to build off of and hang on to your heavy bolter guy for either a havoc squad or a chosen squad (I love my Chosen)

hope this helps fellow worshiper of chaos!!!

heavy bolters work en masse - a unit of havocs with 4 is a cheap way of denying a lot of space to infantry, and glances AV11 fliers a treat. one, however, isn't that effective. personally I'd take the model apart and remake it, and if you used GW glue it'll probably do it itself for you alternatively as people have said just keep it to one side for another unit. never held much stock with standard CSM as by the time ypou've upgraded them with marks etc it'd be cheaper to just go get the specialist version with fearless and special rules.

Also if CC is more your style then maybe make that squad into some noise marines for that added initiative (Better to hit first then hardest I think)

Or even Khorne zerks for the sheer brutality of them
