Your char starts with 5000xp; 4500 xp is represented as your character background that you did (homeworld, birthright, lure of the void, trials and travails, Motivation).
You get to spend 500 xp on your career path before the game starts. On the sheet you write under XP spend 5000.
As RT is compatible with Dark Heresy (a game where you start with only 400 starting xp) this method is made to represent the 'power levels' of the characters; much more powerful than any dirt covered acolyte.
as for your pic, no matter if you use the same on every site; yet again, not too sure if people would be all keen with having a SS pic..

Yes. I've already deleted it.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Check the talents you get with your career, that will tell you which weapon you can use; Universale means you can sue every non-exotic, non heavy, non-flamer wepaon in that category; so Pistol Training (Universal) means you can use SP, las, bolt, plasma melta and launcher pistols.
And read chapters 3 (skills) and 4 (Talents) for a descriptions of the numerous ski8lls/talents in your career .
