This post may be hilarious for some of you.

On the up side, the young gentleman who was trying to beat my 60 year old father gave up on that idea and (perhaps wisely) decided I was a much bigger threat and smashed my face hard. With a bottle. and then a garbage can. then tried to choke me for a while, The entire time my father kept telling me 'Don't hit him, just keep him busy'. Eventually the nice Marshals arrived and kicked the guys ass. All told think I actually did a fairly good job blocking, deflecting, and redirecting, but I still hurt and am a little cut up in places.

My glasses are busted now, and my leg hurts where he tried to knee me in the balls. If anyone wants to help me out with the cost of new glasses, much appreciated.

I can definitely say my day sucked.

Healing will be far more painful than the experience of the fight. Just rest a lot and pace yourself with the meds if you received any. If you're worried about running out and the doc is being reluctant to re-up you (I found the prescription was woefully inadequate when I've been in fights. Broken bones hurt more than people let on lol), supplement them with over the counter stuff. Just be careful not to mix too much, but a lot of that is common sense.

You aren't alone with the experience you're about to have healing up. One time I got the lights stomped out of me by three guys, took me 6 weeks to bounce back from that beating. Broken jaw, all bruised up everywhere, cuts all over my face. I healed up nicely though, still as pretty as I ever was.

No, guy was a redhead, about my height but a lighter build. As far as posting online about it, I doubt it. I don't think they have that sort of thing at the Grey Bar Hotel. Usually the Marshals hand violent offenders over to NYSP.

OT: That definitely sucks, and I think that you would have had grounds for fighting back as self defense. But if you were travelling and had deadlines to keep, I can understand fending as best you can. Not sure about NY, but most places Ive been, if there's no fighting back, they usually only arrest one party. Good thing nothing overly bad happened to ya mate.

I sort of walked in during the second reel myself as far as what prompted this. I haven't really had the chance to sit down and ask Dad what led up to this. I just heard shouting and came to see what was going on.

That is a risky game you were playing. And when someone has a bottle, that's placing yourself as a punching bag in a situation where you're facing grievous bodily harm or death.

I'm glad ya stepped in to help out your father, but I honestly think that in the future, you may want to reconsider taking the Gandhi route.

That's by far the stupidest thing I've heard all week, and I know some dumb fethers. You're entitled to thrash the leather out of him for assaulting your dad - self defence applies to other too. So when a smaller bloke than you then turns in yourself and you just curl up in ball and hope it stops soon - just daft.

As for donations for glasses, I hope this is some sort of dark humour that I missed because limply accepting a slap the. Asking strangers to compensate you for it took the OP to a whole new level of stupid.

If this story is real the. I would suggest a hot bath and then entry of arnica on bruising. It'll heal quicker and take the bruising out.

I don't always agree with Az but in this case he's right. Just avoid punching the guy in the face and you should be okay.

Fraz, most states I have been to, if the police see some form of fight where blows are being exchanged, they will usually take both parties to the station while they figure out whether it was truly a self defense situation, or whether it was a "legitimate" fight. If they come up to a situation and see only one person throwing punches, kicks, etc. they will often times only take THAT person in to the station, but still give the other person medical aid/attention.

So? A guy can kill you with a bottle. Better to be tried by twelve then carried by six.

While New York does have the right to use deadly force in self defense, on the reservation it gets a bit more muddled. Particularly when it's white on native. New York State Police (and the City of Salamanca town cops) tend to view 'native failing to retreat' in a similar light to how Alabama State Police view 'driving while black'. Pennsylvania I could have let him have it without any real worries.

As it was the city cops who did show up wanted to arrest my ass anyway, but the Marshals objected and they let it drop.

I'm not getting all the facts (reservation?) bu thats ok. Just remember my points, especialy about the psyche stuff.
