I have a Badger Krome, Sotar 20/20 and 100LG. I want to get a medium and large needle for base coating. Can someone link med and large needle sets for the krome or 100lg. I want to get a set with the tip conversion and needle if I can. I've tried calling and emailing Badger directly when I couldn't find it myself. No reply on the email and they told me to call back another time when I called and I keep missing them with my work schedule. Thanks.

Honestly, I would pick up another brush.

I find it much easier then changing out needles/tips etc.

Especially on brushes like the sotar - the needle is so fine and delicate - the less you handle it the better. And the incredibly small tip - when I have to take it apart for cleaning - I find myself having to be exceptionally careful not to loose it.

For a medium brush, I would suggest a badger patriot 105- its a great workhorse - I use it for everything from priming to basecoating to shading on terrain pieces.

Quick release valves on all my brushes make changing them out very easy.

However, i wish you success in which ever way you go!!

I already a have 3 brushes I'm not looking to get more. I'd like to turn the 100lg into my priming and large project brush but I'll be using the krome for most of my smaller detail with the 20/20 for fine detail. So I'm looking for needle conversion kits for either the 100lg or krome in the medium and large needle variety.

Badger finally responded to my e-mail but it was just to say that they don't sell directly and gave me a link to the wynwyn site that doesn't have needles in their online catalog. So I'm looking for a link to a site that does sell them and also the product number for the conversion kits.

Finally talked to a tech at badger. The Krome doesn't have anything bigger then fine. The 100lg has conversion kits for medium and large needles.

http://webairbrushes.com/ Go to spare parts and at the top of the page there is a link that I missed that goes to part lists.

Medium needle conversion kit for 100lg 50-0165
Large needle conversion kit for 100lg 50-0166

I'll leave this here for anyone else having the same problem I did.

I don't know about parts for the other brushes, but for the Sotar: Medium Kit, or you can save about $5 by getting the two parts seperate on Amazon.

Same for the large: Large Kit, or on Amazon.

I concur with the previous guy: I would not spend $110 on parts to convert the needle and tips - parts which are super delicate and prone to bent needles during swaps. For a few bucks less you can get a Badger 150 with all 3 heads, which also works well as a general purpose airbrush (Obviously the Sotar is the go-to for fine work), or even just a medium one like the Vega for the same price as the medium head and tip for the Sotar.

Wait, do you have a Krome, or a Sotar 20/20 or what?

If you don't already have something suitable for base-coating I would recommend getting a Paasche H model single action brush. For everything else a good double-action brush is great but for doing big stuff like terrain, base-coating tanks, stuff like that having something like this airbrush will be helpful. Easy to clean, hard to break. When I was at Walt Disnet Imagineering these were the workhorse airbrushes. You could spray almost anything through them. And for the price... why not?

Thanks for the replies but I'm not in the market for another airbrush. I'll figure out what works with the three I already have.

You can get the medium/large needles & other parts for the 100LG from TCP Global: http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/abb100lgparts.aspx. TCP sells the parts individually, not as kits.

I'm not familiar with that model of airbrush, but it looks like they carry everything you need. As for the Krome, I'm not sure that there is a large needle (~.5mm). I use the Krome for fine work only and an Iwata Eclipse for everything else.

Got the medium and large conversion kits from WynWyn. I used my 100lg with large needle for priming several figs including a carnasour dragon, varghulf and high elf dragon. Worked great and hardly used any primer. I'm using Velejo black airbrush primer.
