Hi guys, we were on here last month talking about our 28mm Castle Kit. Anyway, since then we've finished the designs, changed a few things and are well underway with taking pre-orders.

This massive piece of kit is available 50% cheaper than retail price to those who pre-order in 2013 to help with the startup costs. The 28mm castle is going to be a phenomenal piece of wargame scenery. As you now expect from us, it'll be highly detailed inside and out. It'll feature removable panels and lift-off sections to allow the placement of figures within. The castle gates will even open and close, and the portcullis on the gate house will move up and down. For every 25 castles sold, a new stretch goal will be added. Stretch goals include stairs, siege defence weapons, wall and tower hoardings, and the yet to be revealed Barracks and Armoury.

We appreciate that at this time of year, it may be difficult to pay for a massive kit like this in full. For this reason, we've announced details of a deposit scheme. As long as you've deposited £50 before the sale has ended, you'll still be entitled to the same cut-price offer and can pay the rest when you like. All that we ask is that your castle is paid for in full by February 28th. We also have gift vouchers available so that you or friends and family can use them as part of the castle pre-order or on other items in our online store.

Did anyone else ever read "The Castle in the Attic"?

I can't tell from your website what P&H would run to get your Large Castle to my small house in California (mostly, because I can't tell how many "boxes" the Castle would comprise). Can you fill in that detail for me?

Janthkin,We're sharing the cost of postage across everybody during the pre-order. No one will pay any more or less then anyone else. So the cost of a Large Castle getting to your house in California is £20. We can't really predict the amount of boxes yet though. It's a massive piece of kit. Hope this helps!

Can we get some more info on what the stretch goals will be?

Will there be hoardings for all the towers and all the walls or just some? Will the barracks and armory be included in the small set or just the large ones?

Starting to get interested in this for the voucher, but the £100 shipped price tag is still a concern even at 50% off.

Not keen on subsidizing worldwide shipping either.

Hi scarletsquig. Thanks for the interest! Stretch Goal info is as followed:

25 Castles - A Staircase - Staircase to fit inside the castle to allow soldiers to climb onto the wall.
50 Castles - Siege Defences - Artillery for the top of the walls. We have 2 artillery weapons, the heavy crossbow-like Springald, and the "Perrier" which is a tower mounted trebuchet.
75 Castles - Castle Wall Hoardings - Hoardings for the castle walls. Useful for shielding your troops from the enemy.
100 Castles - Castle Tower Hoardings - Same as above but on the towers.
125 Castles - Castle Barracks
150 Castles - Castle Armoury

Hoardings will be available for all of the castle as shown above. The barracks and armoury will be included in all sets, not just the larger ones. Regretfully, the design of these isn't yet finished and won't be until we're in reaching distance of the stretch goals.

We appreciate that especially at this time of year, £100 is a lot. But we've tried to give as much back as we possible as a thank you to those who've pre-ordered it.

One for each wall?

Same for the other stretch goals - Enough hoardings for all walls? Later on, enough hoardings for all towers?

This is getting very tempting, and I think I'll eventually go in for the £50 pay now, and pay the rest later on option!

one stair case for the small castle, 2 for the larger castles (you wouldn't want' more as the thing would look silly with staircases everywhere)

Hoardings for every wall, and every tower, if those stretch goals are achieved.

And yes, if we get to the armoury and barracks, they would be in all 3 offers

I finally pulled the trigger last night. I couldn't pass up the 50% off deal for 2014. I went for the medium castle for right now, but by the time its over I'll probley be in for the large one. I just hope we can get all of the strech goals.

Looks brilliant, but sadly no way I can afford to go in on something like this at the moment...

We're hoping to hit some more of the stretch goals before we get to new year. In the long run, there is also a chance we could make them available for sale in the future. However, this will be at a price and not as a freebie.

PS: The silver reward scheme ends midnight Christmas Day. This means if you purchase a castle before the deadline, you are entitled to 25% off all Tabletop Workshop wargame scenery throughout 2014.

I am interested in the castle pre-order, but one thing is putting me off. Why, as a U.K buyer, am I subsidising shipping for buyers from the rest of the world?

This seems unfair to me, I can't think of another company that has a similar shipping policy.
