So just got a quick question regarding when exactly you launch bombs. My friends and I were playing a big (400pt! Woo! All the Ships!) game last night, and we figured that you could drop the bomb at any point in the action phase, because we didn't see any specific time listed. However, after over half the Rebels got blasted by a proton bomb, I decided that I should probably check if we actually did this right.

When are you actually supposed to drop bombs?

If you check the bomb card that comes with any ship capable of carrying a bomb, it states the point clearly. IIRC, the bomb is dropped BEFORE you move, and detonates that same turn during the action phase (except for proximity mines or whatever they're called).

Correct, you decide to deploy it before you move, place the straight 1 template in the rear guides of the ship and place the bomb token at the end.

Proximity mines excluded, the token then explodes at the end of the movement/action phase, affecting ALL craft within range as described by the relevant rules.

Okay, thanks. So it seems that when we were looking rules up we looked everywhere but the actual upgrade card.
