Below are 2 Lists that I have come up with, the first one is the list I am using most of the time at the moment and the second is what I thought might be a bit better.

What are peoples thoughts on the two lists and what would you change if anything?

The main issue I have when using my main list is that the Trueborn in the Venom's tend to have to get too close too quickly to do any damage and end up getting killed very easily, basically ending up being a bit of a waste of points. At the same time however I need quite a bit of AP2 as I cannot rely on Poison Shots to kill anything with a 2+ armor save (Monstrous Creatures etc).

I love playing this army, Dark Eldar are so much fun to play with!


Some Notes Which Might Help!

> I like the Jetbikes as the rending is very useful, which solves at least some of the issue with mass AP5 poison shots.
> Trueborn with Blasters are fantastic but can be tricky to get in range without dying.
> I could do with some more 48" weapons. The Vaul's and the Pulse Laser's on the Crimson Hunter help with that a little. This is mainly to deal with those pesky LasCannons that sit at the back of the board out of my range (or in the case of the Crimson Hunter, scared Hell Turkeys who didn't want to come on first in turn 2!).
> In the second list which I am thinking of using the Wracks and the Haemo are basically useless, they are just there to give me the Venom more than anything. Could the points be used on something more useful (155 pts total for those 2 units)?
> I like to play the patient game, sit back and whittle down the enemy before pouncing. Could the list be improved to make better use of this tactic.

I am pretty much happy with the list but always welcome some fine tuning help. Once this list is settled I can start to plan on selling 5k pts of Nids to fund the Eldar List (I am just collecting 1850 Lists from now on instead of having masses of models hence why I need some help with this).

You have some nice lists there, my friend. Very solid shooting lists.

Out of the 2 lists, I think I like the 2nd one better. I just recently experienced what those shadow weavers can do to a beast pack They'll probably do more damage than another blasterborn squad.

I don't play Eldar, but from what I've seen, one crimson hunter may not be worth it. It does decent damage against flyers, but only if it doesn't get blown away first; AV10 just crumbles to anything S7 or better.

Also, IMHO it's never a good idea to deck out your DE transports in upgrades. I never put more than one on each transport (if I do give them any upgrades) because they usually will all die by the end. Those are points wasted in more offensive things.

If you drop the Hunter and some upgrades you could afford a Wave Serpent with a min squad of DA's. It may not have the high strength weaponry like the hunter does but 1.) that's what darklight is for and 2.) it will be around a lot longer.

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

Hey there... I play DE/Eldar as well...

Here's some snippet:
> I've soured on Blasterborns... they usually get out once and die. I think it's better to give them Splinter Cannons and find your AT shots elsewhere.
>I find Wave Serpents does solid Anti-Air. Scatter Laser for "laser lock" + energy shield isn't that bad.
>Are you dead set with Kabalites in Raiders? If so, give the Raiders dissies.
>Ravagers are good. Maybe try one Dissy Ravager... I keep flipping on that... took out a Riptide in one turn.
>If you're going mostly shooty... find a way to get the Baron in your list. That +1 to go first is worth it. (and he can hang out with your Jetbike units. If not the Baron... Maybe Vect? (not really competitive... but, he's great in combat with 4+ seize).

Here's my favorite mostly shooty 1850 list (at 2000pts, I'd get upgrades and more wargears):

Why I like this?

> Farseer and Vect joins the Beast squad in turn one (makes squad fearless, plus possible fortuned shadow field 2++)
> That is a fast, dangerous unit that your opponent has to deal with... that gives your paper air planes a chance to stick around.
> The scenery, two Waverserpents + Dias of Destruction can provide cover for Ravagers and Venoms... this is great if you get 2nd turn.
> Having the Dias is like having an extra Ravager... that makes it an easier decision to take one of your Ravager into a Dissie Ravager (9x str 5 ap2 shots! )

Support platforms are key. Very good for 90pts and they scare the crap out of people who know how good they are. Especially tau hate this unit. I'd go with 2 because they are in it. Crimson hunters are better in pairs but with the autarch you can do some reserve manipulation so it might survive well. Also think you should break the bike squad into 2x3.

There is a 3rd and 4th option that I didn't really consider to be fair. I was wanting to take the Crimson Hunter for AA however this might work well also.


List 3

Farseer can hopefully twin link the War Walkers.

I lose 5x Blasterborn and the Crimson hunter in this list but gain a Venom, Farseer and 3 War Walkers. The War Walkers give me 1 extra S8 AP2 Lance shot but can also fire at twice the range.

Swapped the Raiders to Disintegrators as well which gives me a bit more AP2 than the Lances, I usually take Dissies on the Raiders to be honest anyway, 1 Dark Lance is pretty much useless in some cases and if you miss with even one of them it could be an issue. Twin Linked War Walkers would perform much better I think, plus the Walkers have a 5+ Invul like the rest of the vehicles which sort of keep in theme!

Also that's 7 troops choices which should give me some options for objective games...

This is similar to the first list however I lose the Cannons on the Guardian Jetbikes, the CC Weapon on the Autarch and 5 Guys from each of the Raiders (plus the splinter racks which with only 5 guys in is hard to justify).

I am kind of drawn to this list for some reason. Most likely because there is less poison weapons and more Long Range AP2 which is what I like! Plus I get to keep the Flyer...

I am a bit torn now, I really do like this list... It's got one hell of a lot of AP2 and Poison Shooting sitll.

3x Disintegrators
17x Dark / Bright Lances
2x Pulse Lasers
6x Twin Linked Shuriken Catapults (Rending so AP2 as well!)
