Hi all,

Im entering the school league this year but normally I take my dark angel list. However, I would like to make a competitive necron army but Im very new to necrons. From looking online, reading the codex and getting advice from friends ive managed to come up with this:

Destroyer lord = 125

5 immortals w night scythe= 185

5 immortals w night scythe= 185

3 canoptek wraiths= 185

Total: 600pts
The idea is that the destroyer lord and the wraiths target character and key enemie units whilst the night scythes drop off the immortals on objectives whilst shooting transports and fliers.

Add flavour on one of the squads of immortals and make them tesla keep one gauss. Other than that for 600 points thats ok I normally do 1500+.

But does anyone think the destroyer lord and immortals are a bit too weak?

The danger here a only that they fire everything against 3 wraiths and d lord turn one. Unless you can hide em real good. 24" fails to get into combat turn one unless they infiltrate/scout...

Thats a very good point Kholzerino, but I hiding them tactically behind cover during turn 1 might be the best idea.

By the way. Last year did you play a CSM player in the first match and draw? If so that was me!

What if you don't get the cover? What if they, like White Scars, can scout into a position to shoot you no matter where you hide? Lets face it, your banking on the fliers to win your games, which is fine, but I would NOT recommend leaving the Fate o your game on a Reserve roll. I've been in the school league for quite awhile, and I see almost this exact same list every year. It beats the locals, but won't get any further because it's to dependent on the enemy not being able to handle it. But the first duel Serpent player you play will blow the mini-star away and take pot shots at the fliers until they crash. What I would suggest is putting more points into the wraithstar, have a single troop flyer and have the other as simply a 10 warrior blob to camp on home objective. Now you have no chance of being wiped first turn.
