I see no anti av 14 bar the riptides nova charge which will be no where near enough.

Also if your taking the buff commander then the pen chip is a auto take.

I'm assuming that the commander will be sat with the riptide? If so you don't need. The pathfinders as the only thing they will be helping is fw's which is a massive waste of points.

Also switch your fw's to a unit of 10 kroot. They are much better and can outflank to steal back field objectives.

Also drop the shielded missile drones, they are a big points sink and are over priced. Also if 1 dies there's a chance your riptide will run off the table. Better to keep him on his own with the commander.

By making these changes you save roughly 139 points. Which gives you enough for the pen chip and a Skyray. Or some fusion suicide suits with enough points left over for transport for your tac squad.

I recommend the Skyray because if your sky talon gets shot down you have no aa left. Skyrays are brilliant aa but can also ap3 ground targets so if the enemy has no flyers then ruin a squad of your choice.

Also take vectored retro thrusters on your commander for hit and run as the last place you want him and the riptide stuck is cc.

Can the thunder hammers not deal with av 14? I'm just asking because I don't play marines of any sort and I don't actually know.

Generally, no. Of course, they unit will get a fair few attacks on the charge, so that makes them slightly better against AV14. It simply isn't something to rely on.

Why take the pathfinders when not much can benefit from them? Actually why take Tau allies at all? Ultramarines can do just fine with more bodies and more big guns

The challenge: in a 1500pt game I will play 900pt + D6x100 pts, if I roll a 6 I reroll and -100 to that second number (down to 1000pt minimum)
