Hello chaps,

I have embarked on a project of a few firsts, it is my first foray into 15mm and my first proper historical project. I'm a big history buff, but it has taken me years of other wargaming to finally start a historical army, no real reason for that i suppose, possibly I knew I would be too concerned at getting all the uniforms and colours correct, or ending up buying too many things!

Anyway, I am modelling the 12th and 16th Luftwaffe Field Division, they will be the 12th on the Eastern Front and the 16th in the West. Fortunately the organization is relatively similar as are uniform details so they should be happily interchangeable with a few different units. I chose to do the LFD because I had a Grandfather in the Luftwaffe, as well as the huge appeal of doing a unsung regular unit, who never get much attention.

Anyway, for those who have gotten this far, here is my first completed unit the ubiquitous Flak 88, i have painted a few of the gunners wearing their cotton drill pants, as I saw on photos from the Eastern Front. As well as some of the shells painted with the yellow HE and black for AP

Next up is 3x StuG G's these will only be used for the 16. LFD as they have the late Saukopf mantlet, these are from the Open Fire set (which i would prefer to have had earlier Stugs but nevermind )

Nice looking tank, and if (and inevitably when) I start up a Heer army, they can be used for that too. I actually have some mad plans for modular terrain and a big battle for next year, so I am ambitious. We will see what happens!

These are looking great!

And pretty sure this section is for all painting.

Edit: Also checked out your blog, that's the nicest Empire army I've seen. Bookmarked.

Nice to see another Luftwaffe army around, cool 88's. Your fantasy army is quite good too, though its a bit too historical for my taste.

Thanks for the kind words Mac and Mars, appreciate the comments about the Empire too Got a few units half painted for them that I really must get around too.

Now, I only have two trucks to transport these lads painted at the moment so i figured better to just leave them out of the photoshoot Although these are bought in packs of two they are in army lists as groups of 3! But I had bought these before I realised that, such is life! I think in some lists you can use two groups of two...

Now some infantry, first Luftwaffe Jäger Platoon, I've mixed up Open Fire Grenadiers with metal ones in all my little men bases, they go together quite well, not different enough tnat you can notice them on the table, despite the Open Fire lads being a little thinner.

Just a little one today, the Company commander, Second in Command and a Panzershreck team, (although two of the guys are carrying Panzerfausts, because I didn't want two duplicate clones on the same base)

Now, here is where i ask you wonderful chaps for some help! I bought an extra Flak from the BF website assuming it would come with an extra transport trolley, which it does not! So I am hoping one of you lads might have one that your not using so that I can deploy these guys with all their decoration!

I am sorry, I don't have any of those since I don't play FoW, I can only give my compliments Those miniatures look beautiful; the amount of details you are able to pull with those 15mm miniatures is fantastic.

Keep those germans rolling!
