In the vein of similar lists that are being made;
Lord of War
Kill Blasta w/ Bursta Kannon upgrade [380]
HQ
Big Mek w/ Kombi Skorcha [40]
Troops
10x Gretchin, Runtherd [40]
10x Gretchin, Runtherd [40]
The strategy is simple; the Big Mek and a unit of Grots jump in the Kill Blasta and drop S-D AP2 7" blasts on whatever.
Should auto-win against most lists, but auto-lose to fast melee and flyers. Either way the game will be over in like two turns and I can get back to drowning my disappointment in alcohol between matches

I was going to troll you and say it isn't a fun 500 point ork list unless it has a superheavy, but then I saw your list. 10/10

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

It is mandatory to take at least one unit of Ork Boyz in an Ork list, so this is illegal. I don't believe anything with strength D is cheap enough to fit at 500 points. At 600, however, the Lynx and Bill Bursta are both totally usable, and the Shadowsword is only 5 points over. By 750 you have all kinds of hilarity going on. My best suggestion for 500 points, using the Vraksian Renegades Servants of decay list, is as follows:
HQ
Company Command Squad
Troops
10 Plague Zombies - 60
10 Plague Zombies - 60
Lord of War
Macharius Omega - 355
Total: 505
You're 1% over but if anyone makes a big deal out of it just accuse them of ruining the spirit of the game, should work like a charm. Unfortunately you're not strength 10, but fortunately you can probably fit the opponents entire army under the template. If they used some horrid WAAC strategy like a Wave Serpent you should be able to do good damage with pulsed bolts. You have 25 infantry models and most of them are Fearless, FNP and scoring so reserve the command squad and shamble across the field onto the freshly cleared objectives. Remember kids, S7 is just as good as strength 9 against tacticals and you can deal with cover much more effectively by firing three shots instead of one.

I don't have my book to hand, but on the first Troops page of the Ork army list, at the top of the Ork boyz entry, it says 1+ Ork boyz, IE you must take at least one quad of them. I'm sure that rule will be gone in the new codex but for now you have to take at least one squad.

I think you are using an out of date book. The current Ork codex has no such requirement.

I am absolutely certain the rule is there in my 4th edition book, and unless I'm sorely mistaken, that's the most recent Ork codex. It's either on a different page or I have read the dred mob list waaaaay too many times and I'm extrapolating from them. Can't tell either way until tommorow.

Aside from your massive mistake with rules.... This is an ORK thread, not a Chaos thread. Keep the army lists on topic. If you have any questions, look at the title.

Top lel, I exalted that despite the derailment and being wrong about 1+ ork boyz.
It's dread mob that must take a unit of boyz. That and possibly older codexes.

Almost 100% sure Dread Mob has a compulsory unit of "Spanna Boyz" which is the Dread Mob Ork Boy.
No such rule with Ork Dex, You can build a legal list with minimum parts of just the following;
- HQ and two squads of grots
-Wazdakka and two squads of warbikers
-2 Warbosses or Ghaz and Two squads of Meganobz/Nobz/Biker Nobz
-2 Big Mek's and two Deff Dreadz.
All legal.

Even if I am mistaken on the Ork boyz thing (I think I might be, too much time looking at the Dred mob list :( ), my book says 400 points for a Bursta Kannon Kil Bursta so unless you know something I don't you're 20 points over. I guess we should switch to 500 points for tournaments, that way we know there won't be any Strength D shenanigans.

In IAA 2nd E it's 380 points. I believe thats the most recent one, unless 6th ed Apocalypse had actual superheavies in it and not just unit formations

Not apocalypse, but the updated IA: Apoc released afterword, effectively third edition. That and the new update of IA2 are the only books with hull points for super heavies and thus the only post-6th- apoc books and the most recent rules for everything within them. The Kil Bursta is 400 points with a Bursta Kannon.

Hey all,
Rather than start.a new thread, I thought I'd throw something in here. I too have been considering getting Da Boyz back on the table, and as a playable amount and also a manageable painting goal, 500pts is nice.
I was thinking about:
Big Mek, SAG, 'Eavy Armor
x12 Shootas, Big Shoota, Trukk w/ Big Shoota
x12 Shootas, Big Shoota, Trukk w/ Big Shoota
x11 Shootas on foot
Deff Dread w/ 2 extra arms
Should be 500pts exactly, lots of shooting, mobility and scoring. Mek hangs out with the foot squad of Boyz, everything else moves forward. The SAG looks fun and the Dread should hit hard if I can screen it with the Trukks. Jumping to 750 I thought I'd add some rokkit koptas, a burna bomma and fit in more boyz.
Whatcha think?

Don't take a Deff Dread if you want to win games, simple as that. They are undeniably awesome, but dreads are weak and assault is weak and they are the worst of both worlds currently.
I'd also trade eavy armour for cybork on the SAG. Too much AP4 in this game for it to be worthwhile.
Small foot slogging units of boyz are almost useless. I'd swap that for Grots.
If you have slugga boyz, a trukk rush is like the only build where they are any good. Overall though, I wouldn't take trukks with either type of boy without Nobs - a foot slog list is probably a lot better here.
