So, I know KT is all about numbers and cover, but I have had a crazy idea.....

3 x Land Speeders, all with heavy bolters, 1 with assualt cannon, 1 with heavy flamer, 1 with multi melta. Since you can split all your fire up, they have the potential to hit multiple units with minimum S5. Can this work? or is it just crazy??

I'd love suggestions on specialities too. And if anyone has any other good dark angels kill team ideas!

Hi, we play a lot of Kill Teams where we are. I just faced a Land Speeder. It rocked my world, but here's what I thought.

Yes, 3 Landspeeders can actually work. It is NOT crazy, but know you're only out to kill, as vehicles cannot objective grab.

Then you probably don't want the Heavy Flamer or Multi Melta. You want another Heavy Bolter instead.

The reason is, you want the range and like 6 shots with Double Heavy Bolters, then you make them Specialists.

(The Assault Cannon's okay as well, actually.)

Each Land Speeder gets like the Specialist USR of Fleshbane, then Ignore Cover, then Armourbane.

(That's why you don't need Flamer or Multimelta. Each of your like 6 Heavy Bolter shots carries that USR.)

You hide them behind cover during Deployment. Then you pop out to take out any Heavy Weapons and tanks 1st.

Then you just kite the rest of the game, it's pure killing. Pls be reminded with all vehicles, your Ld is 10 for Break Test.

---

Also, personally, I'd just make them Imperial Fists or Iron Hands for the Chapter Tactics.

Sweet! Cheers dude! It will not die could be a cool rule to gain.

I've just played 3 games vs Tau with a sternguard kill team, that went really really well.

What kind of sternguard team did you use?
I am building one right now and i am a bit undecided..

Any feedback would be awesome!

Hey dude it changed slightly over the course of the games, but it settled on what seemed a winning combo. Obviously some kill teams would still smash this.

Here's what I ended up with: 8x sternguard (including sgt)
Sgt has flesh bane,
1 vet has multi melta and relentless
1 vet has ignores cover (contemplating shrouded)
The other 5 vets just have bolt guns - that special issue ammo is epic! I worked them as 4 teams of 2 and the last game I played I won 15 points to 7. My opponent took 6 tau stealth suits. 4 burst cannons and 2 fusion blasters.

My buddy and I have been playing a ton of Kill Teams with his Dark Angels and we've tried a fair few permutations on what he could field. The most effective we've found so far is:

Tac Squad
+2 Marines
+Flamer (Fleshbane Specialist)
+Storm Bolter for Sarge (Preferred Enemy Specialist)

Tac Squad
+Missile Launcher (Relentless Specialist)
+Storm Bolter for Sarge

This gives a great balance of number of bodies and firepower. We tried 2x5 Plasma Cannon Tacs with Combi-Plasma Sarges, but the cost didn't reflect the firepower they could put out, also fast moving CC units just overwhelmed it all the time.

As far as Specialists go, we've found some good synergies;

Storm / Heavy Bolters with Preferred Enemy - Makes them very likely to hit and wound, also makes the user scarier in CC if needed
Beasts/Bikes/Jump units with SMASH! - This is so much fun, if played with the correct amount of terrain, your opponent has a hard time stopping the Smasher hitting and wiping out something valuable
Plasma/ Missile Launchers with Relentless - We tried Ignores Cover plenty of times, but unfortunately it just ends up coming down to which side's ML ignores Cover guy goes first.
Flamers with Fleshbane - against horde armies this is a total nightmare, also lets the user fight like a boss in CC.

We've not found vehicles to be all that useful, but my Killteam tends to be CC orientated with Beasts anyway, so your mileage may vary!

Ulthwé Eldar 2.5k points and growing!
