Who's your favourite Imperial Guard character in the fluff? I'd say that mine's probably Graf Toschenko for his defence and last stand on Nimbosa.

There are a number of IG heroes who are great characters, but here are my favourites:

Iron Hand Straken- This guy is walking badassery. His back-story, and the BL stuff about him, is great to read.

Commissar Yarrik: The hero of not one but two of the bloodiest wars in the Imperium's history, he's gone one-on-one with one of the most powerful Orks in the galaxy, and is is now leading a hand-picked kill team of Black Templars in the hunt for said ork. Oh, and he has a personal Baneblade with an awesome name.

I hate heroes and villans. I cant watch movies or TV simply because i have never been fascinated in characters that do near godly things. Like watching the hobbit movie yesterday and seeing 2 elves kill 30+ orks whilst the other elves die and do nothing (i saw one kill an ork in the background once). It all seems like stuff made for kids so interesting question...

So i guess my favourite characters are the frontline guard as a whole but if i really had to choose one it would be (wrong name, who was the shell shocked guy from guants ghosts who in the begining of the second omnibus?) from gaunts ghosts. Couldnt handle combat well but he still managed to do something great for his comrades. Didnt have to kill hundreds on his own, didnt kill i thing i think and yet he proved his worth to the regiment with his sacrifice. really stuck out to me that character.

Ill add seargant baffels too, ran up to a bane blade in an attempt to knock it out single handedly.
