Hi dakka experts

I had another rule question facing a necron host.
When a royal court is taken (for instance 4 despairteks) and are split between units, how does it work in terms of annihilation points?
Is it one per cryptek killed, one if the whole court is killed (thus all different units they are in?) or what?

As i played against 2 courts with 4 despairteks in each and i killed 6 of them, it changes quite a lot the result...

Thanks a lot for the help.

Once you split the into squads the "royal court" doesn't exists and doesn't offer up any points unless there is still one model left in the "royal court" unit.

So 5 warriors with 2 despairteks for instance is just one point.

Guess it makes sense

Yes ,although only one member from each court can go into a squad so unless he had two courts he would not be able to stick two teks in a unit.

I think the intent behind the royal court being able to be split up and placed in individual units is somewhat akin to having a 'sergeant' model in a space marine tactical squad. They get some extra wargear and options, but counts as part of whatever squad it is part of for all purposes including awarding victory points for unit kills.

Only time a royal court would count on it's own is if there are some of them in play that remain as part of the royal court itself and that haven't been attached to anything.
