So, interceptor allows you to fire at any unit that comes in from reserves at the end of their movement phase. How does this affect a squad of marines coming in from a drop pod? Because the vehicle does not HAVE a movement phase, it's immobile. Would I fire at the pod itself before the marines get out, the pod after the marines get out, the marines after they have disembarked and moved OR do I have the option to fire at whichever I like? I haven't found anything in FAQ's to tell me how this works, but my gut feeling is I shoot at the Marines after they disembark and make their movements. This comes up a lot, as my friend has t the space wolves battlepack and makes copious use of his drop pod.

The last option is correct. You can choose to fire at any unit that came in from reserves in the movement phase. In the case of the pods, that would be either the pod, or the unit inside it, your choice.

It might be immobile, but that doesn't mean it completely ignores the movement phase.
They don't have their own movement phase, nothing does, there's one phase.
And that's the phase it deep strikes in.

By that logic, most things wouldn't "have" a movement phase on the turn they arrive from reserve, being unable to move that turn, rendering Interceptor almost completely useless!

The rule specifies the end of the enemy Movement phase. It has nothing to do with whether or not drop pods "get" a movement phase.

The greateast quadgunning i've ever seen was 4 drop pods, 2 marines squads, and 2 dreadnaughts all dropped within 12" of coteaz's squad. Coteaz was manning the quad gun. His squad was able to fire 8 times, and Coteaz was able to fire the quad gun 8 times, plus an additional 9th time for interceptor. Roughly 600pts was destroyed in the movement phase of the first turn.

"At the end of the enemy Movement phase, a weapon with the Interceptor special rule can be fired at any one unit that has arrived from reserve..."

Not having the specs for Coteaz, is there something he has that allows a complete violation of the Interceptor SR?

Coteaz has a rule that lets him and his unit shoot at all units that arrive from reserve within 12 inches of him in any given turn.

Coteaz can shoot each time something comes in from reserves, not just once per phase. He also gives that ability to his unit.

Range is limited to only 12 inches however.

why on earth would you strike ANYWHERE near that guy?!?!?!

Holy wa!

Does the quad gun have skyfire? Isn't an interceptor shot a snap shot without skyfire?

its like you don't have the rulebook

yes the quad gun has skyfire, and interceptor

And no, interceptor does not inherently snapfire any of its shooting

Quad Gun gives Skyfire, too. Which makes me think that the other player was as unaware of Coteaz's SR as I was.

Maybe it scattered there.

Actually, it was in a 2v2 game, and i was partners with the GK player. And they put down their drop pods, and we go, "are you sure? To which they replied, "yes, why?" then we reexplained the coteaz rule, and they backed their drop pods up. Then after a couple more minutes, decided, "space marines aren't afraid!" .... They certainly weren't afraid. Just dead.

But back on point, yes. You can shoot at both the drop pod or the unit disembarking from it. But not both.
