G'day all,

Been painting up some Aeronautica Imperialis (still pissed off that GW discontinued it!). What do you think? I have a bunch of Fightas, Fighta Bommers, etc that I plan to paint up using the same scheme. Or maybe a different scheme and I'll just use this scheme for aces and such.

What do you think? Thoughts? Improvements? Constructive criticism?

I did struggle a bit with the black, black isn't easy to begin with and the model is so small it's hard pick out each panel neatly, so I went for a scratchy look instead.

Looks good. The main color still reads as a "scale" black, to my eye, with about as much variation as you can have without pushing it firmly into "grey" territory. Not familiar with the range, but judging by the paint pots in the background, I'm impressed you did even this much, at that scale.

I quite like the scheme, but it's entirely your call whether you want to use it across the whole force. Without other painted models to compare it to, I couldn't even pick a personal favorite. If you want to distinguish aces, though, perhaps red would be a good choice for them, with the black as the general scheme?

Yeah, the model has about a 1.5" wingspan. So it's not as super-tiny as the old epic 40k stuff, but still pretty small.

I think I will go with this scheme across the whole squadron mainly because I can't think of anything good for the rest of the planes, lol.

Maybe I'll use blue flames to signify squadron leaders (very unorky, but oh well, it should look cool!).
