Hey everyone, just back after a year off from 40k, and have been looking at the new eldar codex and supplements and trying to make up a decent list with models I have and/or want to buy!
This is by no means a hard and fast list, as I'm only partly aware of whats any good in the current editions. Just trying to make a mixture of things I like, and things that are good.

So here we go:

HQ:
Spiritseer w/Wraithforge Stone = 100
Spiritseer w/Anathlan stone = 85

Troops:
Rangers x 5 = 60

Wraithguard x 5 with wraithcannon
+ Wave Serpent, Holo shields, TL Scatter laser, Shuriken canon = 305

Wraithguard x 5 with D-Scythes
+ Wave Serpent, Holo shields, TL Scatter laser, Shuriken canon = 355

Heavy:
Dark Reapers x 4, Exarch, Fast Shot = 130

Wraithknight, Suncannon, Scattershield = 300

Wraithlord, Flamers, Brightlance, ScatterLaser, Glaive = 165

= 1500 exactly, though I may have some of my point totals wrong...

This list I have all the models for already, apart from the wraithknight.

The spiritseers will go one each into a waveserpent with the wraithguard squads. Rangers and Reapers defenders in the home areas.

An alternative I've been thinking of as well is :

HQ :
Wraithseer with D-Cannon = 225

Spiritseer - 100
Spiritseer - 85

Troops:
Rangers x 5 = 60

Jetbike squad x3 + cannon = 61
Jetbike Squad x3 + cannon = 61

Wraithguard x 10 with wraithcannon = 320

Heavy:
Dark Reapers x 4, Exarch, Fast Shot = 130

Wraithknight, Suncannon, Scattershield = 300

Wraithlord, Flamers, Brightlance, ScatterLaser, Glaive = 165

= 1507

Unfortunately doesnt use any wave serpents, which I've always found to be pretty useful.. though it does mean a pretty strong mob of wriathguard, lords and knight, walking up together, with the spiritseer and wraithseer powers making them even stronger.

Just not sure if either of these are gonna really work. My last lists used a lot more jetbikes (I modelled a jetbike seer council which I never had a chance to use in a game, but its very expensive to use them and i dont see it being possible to field a council with wraiths.... too many expensive units it seems!)

Tanks for any thoughts anyway

List 1. But run the wraighknight naked imo.

Agree, list 1 with stock knight. Spirit stone of anathlan is good if you are going to take voice of twilight for sure, letting you cast another power. Great on the scytheguard to get em into place. Not sure you need the wraithforge stone. It is short ranged, and unless your wave serpent is kiting around with the knight/lord, you won't be able to use it all the time. Could drop it and upgrade your reapers, rangers etc.

Also, go with either dual lances or dual lasers on the lord. Twin linking a lance is nice, but at BS4 you want the double lances if your going to crack armor.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Serling is right (again), mixed roles don't do as good as fixed either double BL or double SL.

Also unless your thing is marching guard across the board always take serpents for them, and with the WS take SL always unless you know you will be playing vs land raiders.

But if you are looking for a lot of tears then bring 3 knights base at 720pts and then as many wraithguard with d-scyths as you have and stick a farseer and a spiritseer in there and run them onto his objective, believe it or not i did this 2 days ago and it was unstopable (ok ok he plays nids).

Might I ask... what is the reasoning behind removing the suncannon/scattershield?

I thought adding a 5+ invulnerable would be good, and 3 strong blast templates per turn would be devastating against units of troops, which is something the list would possibly struggle with as i have few troops of my own.

True the two wave serpents would be able to do troop damage..

My opponents are mostly space marine, with one tau and the occasional imperial guard.

Thanks for the replies though

Well, the wraithknight does a pretty decent job at staying alive even without the invulnerable. The blasts are good vs troops, but the stock wraithknight is devastating vs tanks, pouring 2 s10 shots into them before charging, and is what, 60 points cheaper?

With the wraithknight just stick 1 part of the base into area terrain and boom 5+ cover... so the save thing is easy to solve and because your a MC you ignore dangerous terrain so it;s safe to jump in.

Thats true, but I would need to find a way to use those 60 points to try and take out the enemy 3+ and 2+ troops. I will take a look and see what I can fit in, but whatever it is will be on foot.

You could almost afford another jetbike squad x3 with cannon.

I could probs squeeze in a jetbike squad x3 with a cannon, but having just one squad of 3 bikes probably wouldnt help much, I usually prefer taking at least two squads of 3 minimum, but maybe one squad would help with the wave serpents..

Automatically Appended Next Post:
HQ:
Spiritseer = 70
Spiritseer w/Anathlan stone = 85

Troops:
Rangers x 5 = 60

Wraithguard x 5 with wraithcannon
+ Wave Serpent, Holo shields, TL Scatter laser, Shuriken canon = 305

Wraithguard x 5 with D-Scythes
+ Wave Serpent, Holo shields, TL Scatter laser, Shuriken canon = 355

Heavy:
Dark Reapers x 4, Exarch, Fast Shot = 130

Wraithknight = 240

Wraithlord, Flamers, Brightlance, ScatterLaser, Glaive = 165

= 1410 so far, so 90 points to play with.

Like the list, i dont think you need 2 spirit sears now, because if your planning on 1 going to each wraith gaurd squad, you got to remember that they cant help the wraith guard with d scythes with the spirit mark. I would just run one spirit sear, and put it into the wraith gaurd without scythes.

Well my thinking was more towards the Voice of Twilight, both wraithguard squads having battle focus might give them a bit more mobility. Not sure if this is worth it in practise though, as I've not playtested it or anything

I do like spiders, but would 5 spiders be a worthwhile points sink?
