I'm currently eagerly waiting for the new IG Codex to drop, but it strikes me how the hell GW is going to bring out some more releases for it.

I honestly can't think of anything new to add to the IG list other more FW unit introductions, and there are way too many metal/neglected 3rd Ed models for them all to be updated, but I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess the following:

1) Captain Al'Rahem/Chenkov/Nork Deddog being made into a new finecast/plastic (looking at the current trends) mini

2) Plastic Rough Riders

3) One/two kits for making plastic versions of every Ordnance Battery vehicle

4) Somehow, something new

Just a quick FYI, but the metal guardsmen regiments were from 2nd Ed.... apart from Vostroyans maybe?

I hope they bring back the Griffon tank.
I'd also like to see things like the Forgeworld towed artillery, or maybe light vehicles like the Tauros

Although, there'd be little point in that if they plan to make Forgeworld more official

Do Rough Riders even have a place in the IG? In a book full of big guns, tanks, and gak, how do a bunch of guys with sticks on horseback fit in?

If GW release a new plastic IG army with Limited Edition Codex, I would be a very happy chappy.

The plural of codex is codexes.

I think Stormtroopers are pretty much a given for a new plastic kit, since they'd be usable with IG, Inquisition, and Grey Knights pretty handily. They'd also probably combine well with the existing ranges.

Personally, I kind of hope they don't make an old metal regiment into plastic, because if they do I'll start a third IG army. If plastic Valhallans came out I'd expand my army again, and if plastic Steel Legion came out, well, I better open a tab with my FLGS.

Vostroyans were 4th edition, Steel Legion were 3rd, and everything else was 2nd.

Out of the ones listed, I would guess stormtroopers. They were already plastic once (remember the old potatoe head beret guys). I'd much rather see a different plastic regimentset though.

If they do make a new plastic regiment set, hopefully, they will make it compatible with the current ones. Actually wish they would fix the current ones. One set is divided below the belt while the other is above the belt. Can make for some funny looking kitbashes. (or did they fix that already and me not notice?)

I don't see the need for GW to make plastic stormtroopers with the Eisenkern Stormtroopers available. I'd rather GW remake basic troops, or add a new line of basic troops.

I'd like to see plastic Stormtroopers, even if I already have the awesome metal ones and the magnificent Grenadiers.

Plastic Steel Legion is what I'm hoping for, but non-Kasrkin Stormtroopers would be welcome too.

so you don't see a need for GW to make a type of mini because you're buying said minis to represent said unit from a third party?

A *need*, no. Given limited resources, I'd much prefer them make/remake something that doesn't have such a good quality alternative already available.

Be nice if they re-released Valhallans in plastic with more weapon options... especially in the heavy weapon department

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

It would be nice if they re-issued all of the old metal IG armies as plastic kits, but we all know that isn't going to happen. Cadians have how many different boxes for just one army? Command squad, troop squad, heavy weapons. Ditto for Catachans (who badly need a resculpt on the basic troops). There is no way GW is releasing 12+ new boxes with the new codex (Valhallan, Tallarn, Mordian, Steel Legion). What they might do is re-do the basic IG plastics to have bits from each of the classic lines in the core box, so a unit of generic IG can be turned into a sorta-kinda equivalent of an old IG army (Turbans for Tallarns! Fuzzy Soviet hats for Valhallans! Pith helmets for Praetorians! Bandannas for Catachans!).

I suppose they could make plastic Ratlings, but I'm not sure there's really the demand for them, especially not compared to Storm Troopers.

They look like crap. Unless you have a thing for perfectly formed calf mussels I really don't see the appeal.

They don't compare to these guys, imo :

So many cool uses i could do with plastic SL.

EDIT: if they make the Kasrkin into plastic, i hope they retain the exact same sculpts. Those sculpts are awesome.

Ogryns need a redesign BADLY more so than anything else in the IG arsenal IMHO. What I'd like to see next beyond that is a damn plastic Penal Legion. Would it kill GW to make an official set of Penal Trooper models outside of The Last Chancers?

Yeh GW have a history of always putting a few entries in the codex that aren't covered by their model range.... yet still they sue the pants off any 3rd party that tries to fill the void

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

My ideal setup for IG would be this:

Keep the Cadian boxes.

Make a greatcoat box with head options for Valhallans and Steel legion.

Make a Dress Uniform box with head options for Mordian and Preatorians.

Then do a Command set for each. For HWTs, I'd prefer them to just include a single heavy weapon in the infantry box, but still give 2 extra lasguns should you decide you don't want it.

Back in the real world, I imagine we'll get a carapace armour box that can make Stormtroopers and Grenadier veterans, an Artillery kit along the lines of the Russ (hopefully with similarly interchangable weapons.), and a new tank or flier. Probably Ogryn or RR as well.

I could see the storm trooper kit being made. Multiple options, and parts to tie them into IG/GK/ or Inquisition. I hope they will give them two of each weapon option, but, i doubt they will. Most likely come with one melta/plasma/flamer....

I am hoping they come out with a kit that can make the salamander/other artilery options.
